The latest spy pics of the upcoming TVS Akula 310 suggests that the bike is production-ready and could be launched anytime soon.

The upcoming TVS Akula 310 has been spotted testing again and captured in pictures. The test mule is looking ready for production -- that means the bike could be in the final stage of testing and will be launched by the end of this financial year. The new spy pictures also reveal the front fascia of the bike including the shape of its beautiful split-pattern headlamps.

The bike was first unveiled as the Akula 310 race bike concept at the 2016 Auto Expo in February. However, looking at the riding position of the rider in the new spy pictures, we can say that the company is planning to bring it as a fully-faired sports tourer like the Honda CBR250R and the Yamaha YZF-R3.

The bike is based on the upcoming BMW G 310 R and uses the same 313cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC engine that makes 34PS of power and peak torque of 28Nm. However, the motor can be retuned for a better fuel efficiency which might also alter the power and torque figures.

The TVS Akula 310 gets a full-body aerodynamic fairing with a large windscreen and we can also expect the headlamps to sport projector units for better illumination. The bike gets clip-on handlebars along with premium features like beefy USD (up-side down) front forks, high-spec rear monoshock, and an all-digital instrument cluster with a host of information on display.

The Akula 310 also shares many other components with the BMW G 310 R like the alloy wheels, exhaust muffler and tyres. The hub and callipers of the disc brakes are also looking quite similar on both the bikes. But the Akula gets petal discs while its naked sibling has normal discs on both the ends.

Once launched, the Akula 310 will be the flagship model in TVS' product portfolio and is expected to be priced near Rs 2 lakh in the country.
