Top 5 Electric Scooters Sales In January 2024 - Bajaj Chetak Sees Massive Year-on-Year Growth

Bajaj Chetak recorded a massive 303.1 percent growth in sales as compared to January 2023

SIAM's (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers) two-wheeler sales data for January 2024 is out now. Here are the top five premium electric scooters sold in the first month of 2024:

Ola Electric tops the list with a total of 31,000 scooters registered in India, (as per the Vahan portal) in January, including the Ola S1 Pro, S1 X and S1 Air. The Ola S1 range recorded a high 70 percent YoY (year-on-year) growth. It's important to note that Ola’s numbers are just registration numbers, and many scooters purchased in late December 2023 may have also been registered in January 2024.

The TVS iQube was the second most sold electric scooter after the Ola S1, with 15,652 units sold, recording a healthy 28.6 percent YoY growth. Following the iQube, the Bajaj Chetak acquired the third position with 14,144 units sold with a massive 303.1 percent YoY growth. Bajaj’s growth could also be attributed to the updated version of the Chetak which arrived in January 2024. Here’s what the update includes.

The Ather 450X secured fourth place with 7,211 scooters sold, experiencing a significant 51.2 percent year-over-year decline in sales, 73 units of the electric scooter were exported out of the country. Following the 450X, the Ather 450S which was launched in August 2023 is fifth on this list with 4,654 units sold. Hopefully, Ather’s sales figures should see an upward curve once its soon-to-be-launched family-oriented electric scooter, the Ather Rizta, hits the market. You can read more about it here.

Hamara bajaj is now hamara chetakev

I had purchased it when ev was new in market, I am very much satisfied. I had drove it for more than 50000 kms with no expense. I had to change only tyres and regular service only one auxiliary battery of Rs. 800 had been changed. I am quiet impressed me and my son both have purchased but there is very less front space between handle and seat to carry extra luggage vegetables or ration need to improve in this area good service staff in patni and Nagpur. I will recommend everyone to go for this ev only. Positive, Very good for local commute, I had recovered all the money spend for purchase, me and my son had not spend a single penny for petrol, very pleasant ride for city and highway also but with limitation of distance. mid age person college boys with huge space in seat box for helmet and laptop girls working women also it's value for money, I had already 2 chetak with me and both vehicle had been run for 50000 and 23000 kms planning to purchase one more for my wife.Read More
