This RE Continental GT 650 Looks Every Bit Track Ready

It’s got premium parts from companies like Honda and Triumph too

Royal Enfield motorcycles are known for being highly customisable and to encourage the same, the company holds a lot of build-offs as well. One such build off competition is the annually held ‘Busted Knuckles Build-Off’, held in Australia. For 2022, the people’s choice award was given to the Royale Motorcycles’ No. GT 650 Production Racer, a track-ready Royal Enfield Continental GT 650

Royal Enfield asked its dealerships across New Zealand and Australia to customise any of the 650 twins and were given complete creative liberty. 

What is interesting is that the inspiration to build this came from the GT Cup held in India by Royal Enfield. The people at Royale Motorcycles wanted to go for an authentic sports bike look, for which they sourced parts from a lot of different bikes. Along with the sharp-looking aerodynamic body kit, altered subframe and fully adjustable race-ready footpegs, it also comes loaded to the T with hardware, to strengthen its race track credentials.

Up front, the race-ready GT 650 comes loaded with fully-adjustable golden USD forks, which are actually sourced from the legendary Triumph Daytona and the case is similar for the smaller 17-inch wheels, against the 18-inchers that the standard GT 650 gets. A fully adjustable monoshock at the rear is linked to an aluminium swingarm borrowed from an old Honda. The braking department is taken care of by Nissin, while Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SC slicks ensure excellent grip on the track. 

Complementing the sporty underpinnings, this GT has a freeflow air intake and a custom built exhaust system with a hydroformed HP Corse end. A stock GT 650’s 648cc, air and oil-cooled parallel-twin motor makes 47.65PS and 52Nm, and expect this modded bike to offer better performance.

All in all, this is a staggeringly beautiful looking modded Conti GT that not only looks cool, but also has the means to go properly fast. It shows how versatile the 650cc cafe racer is, allowing creative enthusiasts to make impressive modded machines out of it.
