Suzuki e-Access vs Honda Activa e: vs TVS iQube – Running Cost Comparison
We compared the running costs of these electric scooters to find out which one is the cheapest to ride among the three
The Suzuki e: Access and Honda Activa e: were showcased at Auto Expo 2025 last month. Moreover, the TVS iQube has already been selling in the Indian market for a few years. Now, with these three major petrol two-wheeler manufacturers now in the electric space, we wanted to find out which scooter is the cheapest to ride and which one costs the most.
Let’s first get to know about the contenders
The Suzuki e-Access is equipped with a 4.1kW mid-mounted electric motor and has a top speed of 71kmph. It gets a 3.07kWh battery pack that delivers a 95km claimed range per charge.
The Honda Activa e: has a 6kW electric motor that provides a top speed of 80kmph and goes from 0 to 100kmph in 7.43 seconds (claimed). The electric scooter is equipped with dual 1.5kWh battery swappable packs, which offer a claimed range of 102km.
The TVS iQube 3.4kWh also gets a 4.4kW mid-mounted electric motor. It has a 78kmph top speed and accelerates from 0 to 40kmph in 4.2 seconds.
Comparing the per-kilometer Running Costs
Now that we have the battery and range details, let’s calculate the running costs of all three electric scooters. For this comparison, we’ll be considering an average electric cost of Rs 10 per unit.
Suzuki e-Access
The Suzuki e-Access delivers a running cost of around Rs 0.32 per km, and its battery can be fully charged at about Rs 30.70.
TVS iQube 3.4kWh
The TVS iQube 3.4kWh has a running cost of Rs 0.34 per kilometre. It requires Rs 34 to fully charge the battery.
Honda Activa e:
Honda Activa e: has swappable battery packs which cannot be charged at home. That’s why, Honda offers subscription plans for its swappable charging infrastructure. The basic plan for the Activa e: starts at Rs 1,999 per month, which has a limit of riding 40km per day. This means that the Activa e: will require you to spend Rs 66.6 per day, which equates to Rs 1.16 per kilometre running cost.
Monthly Running Costs (If ridden 40km per day)
As the available information only allows us to calculate the 40km per day running cost of the Activa e:, we will take this figure as a standard benchmark to calculate the monthly running costs of all three scooters.
So, if you ride your scooter for an average of 40km every day, the e-Access will cost you Rs 12.8 per day and you will have to spend Rs 384 every month. On the other hand, the TVS iQube 3.4kWh will require Rs 13.6 per day and Rs 408km per month. Whereas, the Honda Activa e: turned out to be the costliest to ride 40km in a day for Rs 66.6 and has a monthly subscription starting at Rs 1,999.

The results of this comparison are surprising. On one hand, the Suzuki e-Access has a monthly running cost of around Rs 384, and the TVS iQube 3.4kWh requires you to spend around Rs 408 every month if you are riding them for 40km every day.
However, on the other hand, the Activa e: with a Rs 1,999 monthly subscription is approx Rs 1,600 more expensive to run every day. We understand that the Activa e: comes with an easy to swap the batteries within a few minutes, because of which you don’t have to wait for the scooter to charge for hours, but this premium of Rs 1,600 doesn’t look justified. Moreover, with the e-Access and iQube, you will only have to charge them when you ride the scooter, but for the Activa e: you will have to pay the fixed subscription fee of Rs 1,999, whether you ride the scooter that much or not.

wanted an electric alternative. had an activa generation 2 before this. rented this from a friend in another state and have been riding it ever since. And since suzuki has their own platform for e-service, i was interested to ride it and check it out overall. about alright. suspension is on the stiffer side but overall smooth! the seat comfort and height is very friendly, as compared to other scooters in the market, anyone in the 5ft in range can easily ride this without any fear. I would recommend this bike only if you ride short distances. This is the kind of EV that offers average range as compared to the bigger brands that have been around for a decent bit, not to name any names. Honda is known brand and trusted as well. Previous I was using honda activa petrol and my experience was very good with that as well. And now I am very happy with activa so far it is a very good ride experience. So far I am enjoying the ride and it is very smooth. Honda is known for quality and it prove it in all aspects. I loved riding it and giving very good mileage as well. Ride quality is also very good. I liked it. My reason to buy this scooter is quality and mileage. It is one of best in its segment.
