Overview
The E3 Trion is a family-oriented electric scooter from E3 Electric.AI. It is the Bengaluru-based startup’s first electric scooter. Built on a future-ready modular platform, it is offered in three variants: C1, C1x, and C2. The C1 is offered at Rs 99,999, C1x at Rs 1,09,999 and the flagship C2, is priced at Rs 1,19,999 (all at introductory, ex-showroom Bengaluru).

Design
The E3 Trion has a futuristic yet practical design with a hint of boxiness on the apron, especially the shroud covering the dual projector headlights. The side panels are swept back with a sharp design line going all the way from the bottom to the tail lamp. Yes, the tail light and indicators are also LED. As for the colours, it is available in Solar Red, Misty Green, Graphite Grey, Nova Blue, Teal Blue, and Luna White colour options.

Features
Safety Features
The E3 Trion comes with an IP67-rated battery and electrical system for improved weather resistance. It also gets geo-fencing, health diagnostics, predictive service alerts, SOS assistance, dashcam support, and an extended battery warranty of up to 8 years or 1 lakh kilometres. As for riding aids, it only gets a combined braking system. No traction control here.
Convenience Features
The scooter features a 5-inch LCD instrument console with smartphone connectivity. It also gets a Smart Trip Planner with charger locator, turn-by-turn navigation, remote battery monitoring, charging insights, and onboard diagnostics, to name a few.
As for the underseat storage, it appears to be just big enough to accommodate a half face helmet. The removable battery takes up quite a bit of space. That said, the company claims 52 litres of storage by including the underseat, apron cubbyholes as well as floorboard. Buyers can also choose optional accessories including a backrest, helmet, phone holder, and side-step.

Riding Posture & Comfort
Rider Comfort
The E3 Trion has a long contoured single-piece seat. The rider comfort should be good enough for what it’s intended: daily commutes. There seems to be adequate space to plant your feet on the floorboard too.

Pillion Comfort
The long seat should also provide adequate comfort for the pillion during everyday commuting. There’s a tubular steel grab rail with a cushioned backrest, which should help in secured seating for the pillion.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
City & Highway Performance
The E3 Trion C1 is powered by a PMSM (Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor) hub motor paired with a 2.3kWh removable LFP battery. The motor produces 2.5kW and 120Nm of wheel torque, while the battery delivers a claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 108km. Additionally, this variant comes with a top speed of 67 kmph. The brand claims the LFP battery is engineered to last up to eight years under real-world usage.
On the other hand, the E3 Trion C1x and C2 use a larger 3kWh fixed LFP battery. The C1x produces 2.5kW and 120Nm of wheel torque, whereas the C2 makes 3.5kW, and 145Nm at the wheel. The claimed IDC range stands at 165km for the C1x and 128km for the C2. The lower range could be because of a sportier motor tuning. Consequently, its top speed is also higher at 82kmph against the C1x’s 67kmph.
Charging
The C1 supports 0-80% charging in 2.5 hours, while the C1x and C2 take 3.5 hours to charge from 0-80%. Note that the C1 and C1x use a 500W / 750W charger whereas the C2 gets a standard 750W charger.
Handling & Ride Quality
Brakes
The E3 Trion gets drum brakes at both ends. We wish at least the C2 came with a front disc, especially at its price point.

Handling & Ride Quality
The scooter is built on E3 Electric.AI's modular platform that supports future upgrades and multiple battery configurations. Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork, while the 14-inch wheels are expected to offer better stability and confidence over uneven city and rural roads. The detachable rear rim also makes tyre replacement and servicing easier and more cost-effective.
Rivals To Consider
The E3 Trion rivals the Ather Rizta, TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Hero Vida V2, and Ola S1 X+ in the family electric scooter segment. It will also go up against the Ather Konarc, set to be launched on August 29.
