The company is set to debut India’s first maxi-style scooter tomorrow, at a premium price point

Suzuki is set to launch its first ever maxi-style scooter, the Burgman Street 125 tomorrow. Based on the bigger Burgman 650 sold in Europe, the Burgman Street will be priced at a more premium price tag. To know more about the revealed prices, click here.

Marketed as a maxi-styled scooter, the Burgman Street sports an imposing design with bulbous front and overall bulky design. To justify its rather hefty pricing, the scooter packs nifty features such as LED headlamps, a fully digital instrument cluster from the Gixxer and a remote access key slot from the Access 125. There are also pockets behind the front apron for additional storage. We expect to find an underseat mobile charging socket here as standard.

Powering the scooter is the same engine that is seen on the Access 125. This 124.3cc air-cooled, single-cylinder engine delivers 8.7PS of power at 7000rpm and 10.2Nm of torque at 5000rpm.

With a healthy ground clearance of 160mm and a seat height of 780mm, the Burgman should be easily accessible for the majority of the riders. The suspension is managed by telescopic forks at the front and a hydraulic monoshock at the rear. The scooter comes with a front disc brake and a rear drum unit, along with Suzuki's CBS system.

Once launched, it'll go against other heavyweights in the 125cc scooter segments, namely - Honda Grazia (Rs 63,448 for Disc variant) and the TVS Ntorq (Rs 59,650). All prices are ex-showroom Delhi.
