It will be Suzuki’s first electric two-wheeler in India
Suzuki Motorcycle India is set to unveil its first electric scooter, the Access Electric on 17 January at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 . It will likely share its platform with the upcoming e-Burgman, as the petrol-powered scooters also have the same platform.
This new electric scooter, codenamed the XF091, could be named the Access Electric or e-Access. The Access Electric will most likely have a fixed battery, while the e-Burgman might possibly use removable batteries. Removable and swappable batteries have their advantages for sure, but they take up a lot of underseat storage space, making the scooter less convenient to use for carrying items.
The company had previously showcased the Burgman electric scooter in 2023 and it was spotted testing multiple times on Indian roads. The e-Burgman is already available in Japan and is powered by a 4kW motor with 18Nm. It uses Honda’s swappable battery tech and features a very small battery with a range of only 44km range and a top speed of 60kmph, which is not at all practical.
The Suzuki Access electric scooter has already entered production as per sources, and it may hit the market soon, maybe sometime in 2025. While there is not much information available yet, it is expected to look similar to the standard petrol powered Suzuki Access 125. In terms of performance, the e-Access could offer a real world range of 80km to 100km on a single full charge and a top speed of around 80kmph. More details about the upcoming scooter will be revealed at the expo.
It could be launched sometime in 2025 and priced around the Rs 1.20 lakh to Rs 1.40 lakh mark. It might rival other electric scooters like the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ather Rizta, Ola S1 Air, the upcoming Honda Activa e: and the Vida V2.
User Reviews
Because I want to choose VFM e-bike and a sporty e-bike. I have taken the test drive before at my nearest suzuki showroom which gave me excellent service to my e-bike I have been using it for 3 months and the impression is excellent. I have a glorious ride with my e-bike and it give me excellent impression. Ride was too smooth as the suspension were different from other scooty. It gave me a range of 140 kms in one single charge. The motor power was excellent on the sports mode as well as eco mode. Yes I would recommend this bike to a daily user as well as rarely user. As you ride it long you will get comfort as well as better riding experience. It is also a good option for the young new generation who likes sportiness. The electric scooter of suzuki is amazing.Read More
wanted an electric alternative. had an activa generation 2 before this. rented this from a friend in another state and have been riding it ever since. And since suzuki has their own platform for e-service, i was interested to ride it and check it out overall. about alright. suspension is on the stiffer side but overall smooth! the seat comfort and height is very friendly, as compared to other scooters in the market, anyone in the 5ft in range can easily ride this without any fear. I would recommend this bike only if you ride short distances. This is the kind of EV that offers average range as compared to the bigger brands that have been around for a decent bit, not to name any names. Overall, a 3.8 rating from my end is a good standard rating.Read More
