Royal Enfield Thunderbird Launched in Indonesia as Rumbler 500

The popular Indian cruiser- Royal Enfield Thunderbird 500 has been launched in the Indonesian market with a new name, Rumbler 500. The bike has been priced at IDR 8.2 crore that is equal to approx INR 3.96 lac (according to the current exchange rates). Launching of the motorcycle happened at the inauguration of a new Royal Enfield outlet, situated at West Pejaten in Jakarta.

Commenting on the new launch, Rudy, President, Royal Enfield, said "The Rumbler 500 is suitable for driving long distances, has good ergonomics, excellent braking power and boasts great visibility while driving at night. He added that the Rumbler 500 used the all-black design trademark with the 500cc Unit Construction Engine (UCE). The engine delivers 27.2bhp using an electronic fuel injection system along with a torque of 41.3Nm. The Rumbler 500 is designed to create a different character on the streets of Indonesia."

Royal Enfield is already selling Bullet 350, Bullet 500, Classic 350, Classic 500 and Continental GT in Indonesia and now the Rumbler 500 has joined the fleet for cruiser fans. The new motorcycle will target the buyers who are looking for a more comfortable thumper to go on long routes.

Powering the Royal Enfield Rumbler (Thunderbird) 500 is a 499cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled, fuel injected engine that produces 27.2bhp of maximum power and a massive torque of 41.3Nm. The bike comes with a big teardrop fuel tank with a capacity of 20-litre that provides a good range. It also has a bright headlight unit with a projector and LED DRL ring for safer day and night riding. Other key features of the motorcycle include a digital-analog instrument console, comfortable split seats with backrest, well-tuned suspension set-up, front and rear disc brake, LED tail lamp and much more that makes it a perfect partner in long journeys.
