The upcoming adventure tourer from the house of Royal Enfield- Himalayan seems to be launching anytime soon. The bike has been spotted again testing in the extreme riding conditions and it was looking ready for the production. So, we believe that the company can officially introduce it by the end of this year or in early 2016.

Post launch, Royal Enfield Himalayan will be the cheapest adventure tourer available in India with an expected price tag of around Rs. 2 lacs. It will be great offering for those Indian riders, who love to travel on RE motorcycles in the hilly areas and they do customise their machines for the purpose.

According to the images, the Himalayan looks like a very dedicated bike for the travelling as well as off-roading. It has large spoke wheels with meaty tyres, having on/off road compatible tread pattern. The front gets telescopic forks with inner-tube protectors and there is a linked-type mono-shock suspension at the rear. Looking at the gaps between tyres and fenders, travel of the suspension set-up seems to be longer than the existing motorcycles of the company.

There are lots of comfort features in the RE Himalayan, which can bee seen in the pictures. The bike has a very comfortable split type seat with an up-raised handlebar. The fuel tank is also not so long, providing an ergonomic upright seating posture. There is a large windshield at the front to reduce the windblast and you can also see a better multifunctional console on the bike. The company could also offer the rear luggage mounts as a standard feature of the motorcycle.

Propelling the Himalayan is expected to be a new 410cc, OHC engine, with a power output of around 28bhp. The torquey motor will have lower noise and vibrations as compared to the existing 350cc and 500cc engines of the company. You can also see an upswept exhaust muffler on the bike aiding to its off-roading compatibility.

Currently, we don’t have any such motorcycle available in the market, so it will be the starting of a new segment in India.

Excellent bike for long rides

In term of riding the bike really good I've had many great riding experiences with it. The performance is excellent and fuel tank capacity is also good. So there's no worry on long rides. The service network is available in many places so that's not a concern either. Maintenance costs are also quite reasonable. Read More

Most Comfortable bike

Among all two-wheelers, the Royal Enfield Meteor offers the most comfortable ride, and its maintenance cost is also the lowest. It's a 350cc bike, yet it still delivers a mileage of 30–35 km/l on the road. For those who are passionate about two-wheeler riding, the best bike is the Royal Enfield Meteor.Read More

My review for my Meteor 350cc

Dream bike for a middle class family, I purchased it in june 2021 with all my savings while working. It cost me 2.40 lacs in cash as I have ordered Glossy black which is non standard colour so I have to pay extra for it. Talking about my 4.5 years of experience with this bike so the max i go with it is 800 km (up+down) to Mussoorie UK. I like it.Read More
