(UPDATE: Kawasaki has launched the Ninja 400 in India, head here to read the launch story.)

    Ninja 400 India Launch

After updating the Ninja 400 and Z400 abroad earlier this month, Kawasaki has now teased the sportbike in India, hinting at its imminent launch.

With this, the Ninja 400 is about to make a grand return to India after almost two-and-a-half years. The sport bike was discontinued in December 2019 in less than 2 years since its launch owing to BS6 norms kicking in.

In its Euro 5/BS6-compliant iteration, the supersport makes 45.4PS and 37Nm from its 399cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine. While the power figures are the same, the bike now produces 1Nm less than its BS4 version. That said, it still makes 1.9PS more than its closest rival, the KTM RC 390. They both have identical torque figures.

Kawasaki also updated the bike’s slip-and-assist clutch that the company claims has 20 percent lighter lever action than before.

Apart from these things, the international-spec Ninja 400 features an unchanged 41mm telescopic fork along with a preload-adjustable monoshock. A 310mm front disc and a 220mm one at the rear handle braking duties. To back the bike’s sporty credentials, it comes with 17-inchers at both ends with a 110-section tyre at the front and 150-section at the rear. Tipping the scales at 168kg (same as above), it is one of the lightest bikes in its segment.

If the India-spec Ninja 400 gets all the goodies from its international sibling, the bike could be a joy to ride. That said, the Ninja 400 was priced at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and we expect the BS6 version to cost about Rs 5.25 lakh (ex-showroom), a Rs 26k premium, making it quite a pricey proposition, once again. We expect it to be here sometime next month and once here, it’ll rival against the KTM RC 390. Other less powerful, smaller-engined alternatives include the TVS Apache RR 310, and the upcoming BMW G 310 RR.

      Amazing Bike
I have heard people say that this bike has an unjustifiable price tag but as someone who has ridden this beast every time you cross 8000 rpm, it will put a smile on your face like nothing else, even daily riding is bliss the utmost comfortable riding posture on this segment period the mileage is lovely it will give you about 330 km city riding and 350-360 on the highway. The final thing I would say is if you can afford it close your eyes and buy it.

Kawasaki Ninja 400 is good looking bike
This is a very good-looking bike with a very sharp design and is awesome to look at. I love the exhaust sound of the bike and people sometimes get scared of it. The after-sales services are good by the company.
