Is This The Royal Enfield Classic 650?

The bike has been spotted testing along with the 650cc cruiser that we’ve already seen before

The bike has been spotted testing along with the 650cc cruiser that we’ve already seen before

Royal Enfield seems to be cooking multiple dishes out of its versatile 650cc platform. After the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650, the Chennai-based bikemaker is all set to launch a more premium 650cc cruiser, likely to be called the Roadster 650. But this time around, along with the cruiser, a more classically styled motorcycle has also been spotted testing. We believe it could be the Royal Enfield Classic 650.

The riding posture is clearly different from the 650cc cruiser because of the low handlebars and upright ergonomics. The footpegs are also mid-set instead of the forward biased units on the 650cc cruiser. The rear fender is also shorter than the cruiser’s, and you can’t miss the trademark pea-shooter exhausts, quite similar to the one on the Royal Enfield Classic 350.

The Classic has had a very strong brand recall and it feels natural for Royal Enfield to offer something more powerful in a similar, delightfully classic package. While it will share the same powertrain as the current 650 twins, the motorcycle’s underpinnings are likely to be shared with the 650cc cruiser. You can read more about the cruiser here. In terms of pricing, it is likely to be a little more affordable than the cruiser, which is expected to cost around Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 will also enjoy the distinction of being the only classic-styled motorcycle with modern mechanicals in the segment. Will it manage to become Royal Enfield's cash-cow in the 650cc segment? Only time will tell.

Light, Smooth and Stylish

I needed a bike with good mileage and easy service. The design looked good too. Picked this one after test rides. It felt lighter and smoother than the rest. I wanted something fuel-efficient and comfortable. Smooth riding, no problems so far. Starts quick and clutch is very light. The ride quality is excellent. Mileage is good, and the handling gives confidence. I get around 55+ km/l consistently. The eco-friendly side was an extra reason to buy it. It’s perfect for office goers or college students. Doesn’t demand much maintenance. I recommend it for anyone who rides often. Great mix of comfort, mileage, and control. Doesn’t break the pocket and runs smoothly.Read More

Effortless Control and Comfort

I chose this model as it offered better mileage than others in same price. Also liked the upright sitting position, which helps during traffic rides. This one had everything I needed. Handles bumps easily, strong body. So far, rides are smooth. Clutch is light, brakes work fine, and suspension feels strong. Bit of vibration at top speed but okay. Starts easily, handles traffic well, and brakes are strong enough. Feels stable on highways too. Good for people who want a no-trouble bike. Mileage stays around 60 km/l and service cost is low. Overall, great value. Simple design, low maintenance, and good fuel economy. I wanted something long-lasting with steady mileage.Read More

Affordable Yet Feels Premium

Bought this one because it fits my budget and comes from a trusted brand. I didn’t want to risk a new company model. Very comfortable even on long drives, and Handles traffic well, no heating issues. My riding experience has been satisfying. Starts quick, handles turns well, and stays stable even with a passenger. Engine feels refined and quick to respond. and vibes are stable even at higher speeds. I’d tell others to go for it if they want peace of mind. It’s not the fastest, but it’s steady, smooth, and very reliable daily use bike. Very responsive throttle and smooth clutch. Seats are soft, and suspension works well.Read More
