It is also the biggest scooter in India, and the only scooter with both manual and automatic transmission thanks to dual clutch tech

    Quick Highlights:

    • Honda X-ADV launched in India

    • Priced at Rs 11.90 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram)

    • It gets a 750cc parallel-twin motor with an automatic dual clutch transmission

Honda has launched its biggest scooter in India, called the X-ADV at a price of Rs 11.90 lakh (ex-showroom Gurugram). It gets a big 750cc parallel-twin motor along with lots of other features - several of them segment-first. Lets have a closer look at this new scooter launch from Honda:

    Design

The Honda X-ADV looks like nothing ever sold in the Indian market. It has a unique design which resembles a perfect mix between Honda’s maxi-scooters and Adventure motorcycles. It looks quite appealing with its aggressive looking front end, tail section and big front visor. This scooter also gets wide block pattern tyres which goes well with the overall design. The X-ADV is available in a single variant and two colour options: Pearl Glare White and Graphite Black.

Sadly, the much sportier looking yellow colour option that’s sold abroad in markets like the UK is not available in India. Having said that, despite the lesser colour options, the X-ADV still looks unique enough to grab attention wherever it goes.

    Engine

The X-ADV is powered by a 745cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin motor which makes 58.6PS at 6,750rpm and 69Nm at 4,750rpm. The main highlight here is that this scooter gets a segment first, automatic 6-speed dual clutch transmission, rather than a conventional CVT transmission generally seen in scooters.

Along with this, it also gets a manual mode where gears can be changed by pressing the (+) or (-) buttons on the left switchgear. Interestingly, the scooter comes with a claimed mileage of 27.7kmpl, which is pretty impressive for such a large engine. The claimed top speed is 168kmph, which is more than enough for our roads.

    Underpinnings

This scooter gets a steel tubular frame along with 41mm inverted fork and a rear monoshock with preload adjustability. It runs on a 17-inch front and a 15-inch rear, tubeless spoke wheel setup. It gets twin 296mm front and a 240mm rear disc brake setup with dual channel ABS.

    Features

The Honda X-ADV gets a 5-inch TFT display which shows all the necessary information and supports smartphone connectivity via Honda’s Roadsync application. This application allows for turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, music control and voice commands. It gets four riding modes: Standard, Sport, Rain and Gravel along with User mode which allows for custom setup as per the rider’s liking. This scooter gets a 22-litre underseat storage along with a USB-C charging port inside.

    BikeDekho Says

Scooters are generally considered to be simple and practical in a market like India. While Honda has been dominating this commuter scooter segment for quite a while, it is good to see the brand explore the much smaller premium scooter segment as well. Interestingly, the X-ADV 750 is the only proper middleweight adventure scooter in the world, including the Indian market now.

While Honda may not be seeing numbers, it will appeal to those who are looking for a uniquely designed performance and lifestyle oriented scooter that can offer good practicality and also go off-roading. There are no direct rivals but if you want a capable 750cc adventure bike, you may go for the slightly cheaper Honda XL750 Transalp, which is pretty capable in its own self. The bookings are open for the Honda X-ADV, and the deliveries will commence from June, 2025.
