Honda Motorcycles and Scooter India Limited might discontinue its 125cc semi-faired motorcycle- CBF Stunner in India soon. According to a report by ET Auto, the company has stopped the regular production of the bike due to decrease popularity and sales of the model.
Launched in 2008, Honda Stunner was the first of its kind of motorcycle with a very sporty design and semi-fairing in the 125cc segment in India. The bike also got a split pattern seat, dual-tone paint schemes, coloured suspension and alloy wheels. The bike was fuel efficient as well, so it didn't took much time to became popular among youngster.
Now, the trends are changing and performance is a major requirement for the Indian youth. Most of the consumers of the lower performance machines prefers a low cost ride. However, Honda Stunner cost slightly lesser than the entry level 150cc bikes in India, while higher than the recently launched Bajaj Discover 150.
Honda Stunner sports a 124.7cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine, which belts out 11bhp of maximum power and a top torque of 11Nm. It comes mated to a 5-speed transmission and a carburetor type fuel system. The company also launched a FI version of the bike in 2009, which claimed to deliver a 11.6bhp of raw power and a mileage of 65kmpl. However, it was discontinued in 2013 due to a high price tag resulting in poor sales of the bike.
