Honda has showcased its iconic machine, the GoldWing at the Auto Expo. The bike was launched in November 2014 and since then it has become a dream of every tourer. Known for its unique styling and amazing features, the bike can also be termed as ‘the most comfortable two-wheeler’ available in the market.
Honda GoldWing houses a powerful liquid-cooled 4-stroke, 12-valve SOHC 1823cc powertrain that is mated to a 5-speed (including overdrive, plus electric reverse) transmission having Hydraulically actuated clutch. The engine of the motorcycle is capable enough to pump out 116.6bhp of power at 5,500rpm along with 167Nm of peak torque at 4,000rpm. The bike is built around a Diamond type, triple-box-section, Aluminium Twin-Spar frame having 45mm air-assist telescopic fork with anti-dive, 140mm stroke suspension system up front and Pro-link Pro-Arm with electronically-controlled spring preload adjustment, 105mm axle travel system at the rear side. The stopping power relies on 296 x 4mm dual hydraulic disc with combined 3-piston calipers, ABS, floating rotors and sintered metal pads at the front and 316 x 11mm ventilated disc at the rear. The bike covers more area than any other powerful machine, which is measured at 2,630 x 945 x 1,455mm.
Thanks to its immense size and amazing features, the bike is quite popular among the youths, but due to the heavy price it shatters the dreams of many. Presently, the price of the motorcycle starts from Rs. 28,50,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It mesmerized everyone when showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo and same is expected this year as well.
