Honda Forza 300 Rival Yamaha XMax 300 Roma Edition Launched In Europe

Italy was one of the worst-hit countries by COVID-19. In a bid to pay homage to its frontline workers, Yamaha has launched the XMax 300 Roma Edition in Europe at 5,999 Euros, approximately Rs 5.04 lakh. This makes it dearer than the standard version by around Rs 16,800. The XMax 300 is also one of Yamaha’s best-selling scooters in the country.
This 130-unit limited edition scooter packs a neatly done graphical representation of the Roman streets on the fairing and a silhouette of the famed Colosseum on the tail section. This maxi-scooter has been designed by Gerno di Lesmo from the Yamaha R&D division in Europe. It is available only in one colour (black and white dual tone). Apart from the striking graphics, it also gets a smaller windscreen and aluminium footpegs. The rest of the maxi-scooter is the same as the standard variant. Notable features include LED headlamp and tail lamp, car-like twin-pod semi-digital instrument cluster, a 12V socket, traction control, and disc brake on both ends with dual-channel ABS.
The scooter is powered by a 292cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine which churns out 28PS at 7250rpm and 29Nm at 5750rpm. In comparison, the Honda Forza 300 makes 25.1PS and 27.2Nm from its 279cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled powerplant.
Underpinnings include a telescopic front fork and a pair of shock absorbers at the rear. The scooter rides on 15-inch front and 14-inch rear alloy wheels wrapped with tubeless tyres. Yamaha is not likely to bring the standard XMax 300 to India as it will be way too expensive for our price-sensitive market.
