Honda Developing A CB350 Based Royal Enfield Himalayan Rival

The ADV will fill the void of an affordable and simple adventure workhorse, left by the discontinuation of the Himalayan 411
Honda has filed several patents hinting at a new adventure bike based on the Honda CB350. Through this bike, Honda will likely address the gap of a simple and affordable ADV workhorse that is left vacant by the discontinuation of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 411.
Though the patent design may look somewhat like the Himalayan 411, this patent design does not accurately represent the actual design of the ADV and is rather just to demonstrate the mechanical components.
Based on the CB350, the ADV will be equipped with the same 348.36cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that delivers 21PS and 30Nm. The engine will be tuned to suit the ADV’s nature, hopefully with more aggressive initial acceleration.
The Honda ADV will feature a tall windscreen. It will also get high fenders and an upswept exhaust. The ADV will be fitted with a telescopic fork with fork gaiters and twin shock absorbers at the rear. With a larger front and smaller rear spoked wheels, it will likely get disc brakes at both the front and rear, equipped with dual-channel ABS.
This move from Honda is rather surprising that Royal Enfield has now moved to a bigger and advanced 450cc liquid-cooled engine for new Himalayan. It would seem that Honda is taking on the former Himalayan 411. However, we can’t ignore the fact that the Himalayan 411 left a void for a simple and beginner-friendly ADVs and that is what Honda will try to fill with this 350cc ADV.
