Honda ADV160 Launching In India Soon
This premium maxi-scooter will be made in India

The Honda ADV160 maxi scooter was recently patented in India. However, unlike the previous instances, Honda India is reportedly serious about launching it. The adventure-style maxi-scooter has been available in the global markets for a while now.
Localisation
Honda is expected to localise the production of the scooter. This will primarily help the brand price it very competitively. That said, Honda could also export the units made in India.
What Does It Pack?
Internationally, the scooter is powered by a 156.9cc liquid-cooled engine which churns out 16PS at 8,500rpm and 14.7Nm at 6,500rpm. That should make it one of the most powerful maxi-scooters in the segment when it is launched here.
Features
The ADV160 has a 5-inch TFT console with smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, and music controls. There’s also a keyless ignition, as seen on the Honda Activa H-smart variant. A 30-litre underseat storage and a cubbyhole in front, with a USB type-C charging socket inside, add to everyday convenience.

Underpinnings
Suspension duties are handled by a front telescopic fork and twin rear shocks from Showa. The ADV160 runs on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear tubeless tyres. It has an 8.1-litre tank, which will be the highest in its segment in India.

Launch Date, Price, & Rivals
The ADV160 should be a premium offering and might be available only at the Honda BigWing showrooms. It’s expected to be priced at Rs 1.55 lakh (ex-showroom), and could launch around the end of this year. It will rival the likes of the Yamaha Aerox, Hero Xoom 160, the upcoming TVS 160 maxi scooter, as well as the upcoming Yamaha NMax 155.
