- Currently, only the Heavy Duty series has been updated to BS6 compliance.
- Price premium incurred is not a lot.
- We do not expect any mechanical changes.
We were not quite sure whether the aged TVS XL100 would be capable of undergoing the transition to adhere to BS6 emission norms. But TVS has managed to bring out the XL100 Heavy Duty iTS BS6 at Rs 43,044 (ex-showroom Delhi). Alongside the standard bike, TVS will also sell the ‘Special Edition’ variant, which now retails for Rs 43,804. Both these trims come at a premium of Rs 2,990 and Rs 3,340.
Given that the price buffer is minor, TVS is unlikely to fit the XL100’s 99.7cc air-cooled engine with a fuel-injection system. This ideally means that TVS could be going down the e-carb way like the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear BS6 and the Bajaj CT100 BS6. Currently, the BS4 motor pumps out 4.35PS and 6.5Nm.
The step-through design will be kept intact. Meanwhile, the Special Edition gets a different colour. To find out how different the variants of the XL100 are, check out our story here. We do not expect any changes on the mechanicals front. We await further details of the XL100 BS6 from TVS.

Less maintenance needed for this bike and light weight of the bike frame is easy to handle when it's static. I don't face any kind of issue. Some things I had to repair but is very common like spark plug carbon, some time horn wire got lose that all. Young genz may not like it because of this style. But yes safety factor is neglect in this bike if any accident gonna happened, I think there might be a problem. - Best budget bikeBike is in showroom condition limited kilometres run. Neatly maintained suitable for city ride. Comfort very much good. Can carry a family of 4 easily. This vehicle is very helpful for daily use and small work purpose. Engine is smooth and reliable, no problem till now. I mostly ride it on local roads and village side roads, and it runs easily even on bad patches. Mileage is very nice and saves fuel cost, which is important for daily riding. I use it for going market, short travel and sometimes carrying light load also. Suspension is okay for this type of vehicle and gives comfortable ride for short distance. Maintenance is low and service center is easily available nearby. Look is simple but strong, build quality feels solid.
