Connected Commutes: Scooters with Bluetooth Navigation Take the Lead

These five affordable scooters with navigation make commuting a whole lot easier.

Scooters in India have always remained a more practical choice over motorcycles with their usable under-seat storage spaces and floorboards. However, recently, they are also edging ahead in technology and convenience by offering navigation and Bluetooth connectivity. Previously restricted to premium sports bikes, navigation is now offered in 110cc and 125cc scooters, making it a more mainstream feature. Here are five of the most affordable scooters in India that offer the convenience of navigation in their instrument clusters. Of course, it's important to understand that at these price points, these scooters only offer turn-by-turn navigation, and not full-fledged map navigation.

1: TVS Jupiter ZX

In 2023, TVS introduced the SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity package with navigation in the ZX variant of TVS Jupiter as an option. With this feature, the TVS Jupiter ZX now has the option of a full-LCD instrument cluster, which gets navigation and voice assistance. It makes the TVS Jupiter the only 110cc scooter in India to get navigation. The TVS Jupiter ZX SmartXonnect is offered in two variants – Drum (Rs 84,568) and Disc (Rs 89,088).

2: Suzuki Access

The Access has always remained a simple scooter with humble underpinnings and a functional design to appeal to the common masses who prefer scooters for basic commuting. However, in 2022, Suzuki added a new top-spec Ride Connect variant of the Access, which received the full-LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation from Burgman Street. The range-topping Suzuki Access Ride Connect variant is priced at Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

3: TVS Ntorq 125

One of the sportiest scooters on sale in the country today, the TVS Ntorq 125 also holds the record of being the first scooter in India to get a full LCD instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. Launched in February 2018, the Ntorq 125 has received more premium variants like the Race XP and XT, which debuted with more detailed navigation displays. TVS offers navigation as a standard feature across the variant lineup of Ntorq 125, which is priced between Rs 84,636 and Rs 1,04,641 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

4: Suzuki Avenis

Suzuki’s sportiest 125cc scooter in India, the Avenis, is primarily targeted at youngsters, evident from its edgy design language and contemporary features like an external fuel-filler and full-LCD instrument cluster. Unlike other Suzuki scooters, which have navigation only as an option, the Suzuki Avenis gets navigation and Bluetooth connectivity as standard features in its instrument cluster. The prices of Suzuki Avenis start at Rs 92,000 (ex-showroom, India).

5: TVS Jupiter 125

TVS recently expanded the lineup of Jupiter 125 premium executive scooters with a new top-spec SmartXonnect variant. As the name suggests, the TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect gets a more modern-looking full-LCD instrument cluster, which comprises two full-LCD screens, one of which displays Bluetooth connectivity data and navigation. The range-topping TVS Jupiter 125 SmartXonnect will set you back by Rs 96,855 (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Benefits of Navigation in Scooters

While scooters in India are generally used more for commuting from point A to point B, they also offer the added convenience of navigation. At times when the new-generation riders are heavily dependent on smartphones for much of their daily lives, the presence of navigation in scooters is only making their commuting easier by navigating to newer places in a safer and hassle-free manner.

With the feature of navigation in scooters, people can now commute to new or unseen places more precisely and quicker, without the need to take out their smartphones and use them for navigation. It eliminates the need to use smartphones while riding, thus making navigation a feature both for safety and convenience. As we mentioned before though, scooters at this price point only come with just turn-by-turn navigation. If you want proper map-based navigation, then you have to look at much more expensive electric scooters with colour TFT consoles, such as the Ather 450X or the Ola S1 Pro. You can visit Bikedekho and learn more about the scooters that feature navigation and are on sale in India.

NTORQ 125 Review

Sporty and stylish looking scooter. The scooter provides comfort for long distance travels. The quick acceleration is also a key factor. Best scooter in this price range with 125cc and disc brake and bluetooth feature. Positives include the price mainly, then there are the looks, about how sporty it looks. Having bluetooth at the price range is a steal. usually, base models scooters in this price range doesn't offer disc brake, they are usually drum brakes which is not the case here. Yes, I would absolutely love to recommend this scooter with anybody. The bluetooth disc brakes and price range will be the main reason for it. Also, TVS provides great service. These are the reasons for my recommendation.Read More

The comfort was good and can improve the seat quality a bit. Overall the experience from the service centre is nice. I mostly ride both in city and highway commuting daily in the city it is easy to maneuvere and in highway the performance is good. Ya definitely recommend it because of performance packed with great mileage. The suspension is on stiffer side when ride solo but with pillion it is nice to take a small bumps easily. Due to the stiffer suspension the stability is great.Read More

Best family 125CC scooter in India

Family-oriented scooter and comfortable for city rides with soft suspension and reliability of TVS. The Jupiter is itself a very big name in the scooter market for over a decade and provides the complete, balanced package. The scooter is smooth, and the space is more than enough, the only problem is that it doesn't give confidence during overtakes. The service centre experience is also not good, but overall the scooter is a complete package. Yes, 100% to people who are looking for a no-nonsense scooter with comfort and space on daily rides from point A to B with decent power dynamics and a lot of space, and the scooter provides all required features.Read More
