We help you decide between the two electric scooters from Ather

    Konarc vs Rizta

The Ather Konarc was recently launched in India at a starting price of Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). It is based on the brand’s EL-01 platform and is available in three variants. However, Ather also sells the Rizta, which starts at Rs 1,21,999 (ex-showroom) and is available in four variants.

With a lot of overlap in terms of pricing, features, and battery options, choosing between the two Ather scooters can get quite confusing. So, here’s a guide on which one to pick according to your budget and requirements.

    Budget: Rs 1 Lakh

    Konarc vs Rizta

If you have a budget of Rs 1 lakh, then you only have the Konarc S 100 km as an option. It gets a 2.2 kWh battery pack with a maximum claimed IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) range of 100 km. It is powered by a 4 kW peak motor with a top speed of 70 kmph and a 0-40 kmph time of 5 seconds.

In terms of features, it gets a small 4.3-inch LCD console. However, it misses out on connected features like Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and other connected features that are present on the higher variants of the Konarc. The scooter also gets a 14-inch wheel at the front, which should make it more stable when dealing with rough roads.

If you are on a tight budget and want a family electric scooter that is well built and offers the basics, the Konarc S 100 km is your only choice.

Budget: Rs 1 Lakh To Rs 1.35 Lakh

If your budget is between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.35 lakh, you get three options: the Ather Konarc S 121 km, Ather Rizta S, and Rizta Z 121 km.

    Konarc vs Rizta

The Konarc S 121 km gets a bigger 2.7 kWh battery pack with a claimed range of 125 km and a bigger 4.7 kW motor, which gives it a better 0-40 kmph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds.

The scooter gets a larger 7-inch LCD  instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and call/SMS alerts. It also gets a 14-inch front wheel, and a front disc brake.

    Konarc vs Rizta

For the same price, you can also get the Rizta S 123 km. It gets a 2.9 kWh battery pack with a claimed IDC range of 123 km. The scooter gets a 4.3 kW motor with a top speed of 80 kmph, which is 10 kmph higher than the Konarc.

In terms of features, it gets a 7-inch segmented LCD console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and other connected features similar to the Konarc. However, the Rizta rides on 12-inch wheels on both ends compared to the larger 14-inch front wheel of the Konarc.

    Konarc vs Rizta

If you spend Rs 15,000 more, you get the Rizta Z, which gets the same range, underpinnings and performance but adds a 7-inch TFT console with AtherStack 7 operating system. This enables features like Ather Pothole Alerts, voice commands, live location sharing, WhatsApp calls, cricket updates and more.

All three variants in this price range get similar claimed range, with the main differentiating factors being features and underpinnings. If you want practicality and comfort, go for the Konarc S 125 km.

If you want more futuristic looks and cannot stretch your budget much, the Rizta S 123 km makes a lot of sense.

But if you can stretch your budget to the Rizta Z 123 km, you get a more feature-loaded experience with the TFT display, AtherStack 7, and all the connected features that come with it.

    Budget: Rs 1.45 Lakh

In this price range, you get the Ather Konarc S 161 km and the Ather Rizta S 161 km, which are priced the same

    Konarc vs Rizta

The Konarc S 161 km essentially gets the same underpinnings as the Konarc S 125 km but with a larger 3.5 kWh battery pack with a claimed IDC range of 161 km. It also gets the same features as the S 125 km, so the main reason to buy the S 161 km is the larger battery pack, which offers more range.

    Konarc vs Rizta

The Rizta S 161 km also gets similar underpinnings to the Rizta S 123 km but with a larger 3.9 kWh battery pack, which delivers a claimed IDC range of 161 km. The features, underpinnings and performance also remain the same.

While these variants have the same features set, you are paying more for the extra range.

Here’s how the 161 km variants for the Konarc S and the Rizta S differ from each other in detail.

    Budget: Rs 1.55 Lakh

    Konarc vs Rizta

For this budget, you can get the Rizta Z 161 km variant. It is the most loaded of all the Ather family scooters. It gets similar underpinnings to the Rizta S 161 km but with a 7-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets the AtherStack 7 operating system, which enables features like Ather Pothole Alerts, voice commands, live location sharing, WhatsApp calls, cricket updates, and more.

In summary, if you want the most feature-loaded scooter with a long claimed range, the Rizta Z 161 km makes a lot of sense.
