The booking amount for both motorcycles varies from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000

  • The BS6-compliant RTR 160 4V has seen a slight drop in power and torque figures.
  • Both motorcycles come equipped with a new LED headlamp and Glide Through Traffic feature.
  • Suspension and braking hardware remains the same as the predecessors.

TVS’ new BS6-compliant Apache RTR 160 4V and the Apache RTR 200 4V have started reaching dealerships. You can book one for a token amount ranging between Rs 5,000 and Rs 10,000. While the RTR 160 4V is priced at Rs 1,03,000, the 200 4V now retails for Rs 1,24,000, which is Rs 9,450 more expensive than the older model.

Apart from a new LED headlamp and new decals, the Apache RTR 160 4V and the Apache RTR 200 4V look similar to their predecessors. But there are some new features over the older model to justify the price hike. For instance, both motorcycles get the new Glide Through Traffic (GTT) feature, which kind of works like torque-assist where the rider doesn’t have to apply any throttle inputs to move the motorcycle. Moreover, the RTR 200 4V gets Bluetooth connectivity, which displays more than just turn-by-turn navigation

While the cycle parts remain the same as before, TVS has heavily reworked the powertrains. The new Apache RTR 160 4V churns out 16.02PS and 14.12Nm -- 0.77PS and 0.68Nm less than the older version. The Apache RTR 200 4V, on the other hand, makes the same power as before, at 20.5PS, but the peak torque has gone down from 18.1Nm to 16.8Nm. However, has going green made these bikes a bit less performance oriented? Head here to find out.

After the RTRs, the Jupiter Classic is the only other two-wheeler in TVS’ portfolio that is BS6-compliant. However, the 2020 Apache RR 310 was just spotted with a tonne of new features, hinting that we might see the flagship Apache joining the list soon.
