Harley-Davidson has launched the X440 T in India at Rs 2,79,500 (ex-showroom). It is based on the Harley-Davidson X440, but is a different model in the X440 range.
Sharper Styling
The biggest change on the X440 T is the redesigned rear profile, inspired by the XR1200. The old straight-cut rear fender has been replaced with a sleeker section with an integrated tail-light, and a new ribbed seat. It also has a new wider and a flatter handlebar, as compared to the standard X440, which should make the riding posture a bit sportier as well.
This Harley-Davidson bike gets bar-end mirrors, which add to the overall stance, and clean up the silhouette. It looks better finished thanks to improved cable management, and the redesigned exhaust end-can and the new heat shield design. The bike has new colour schemes and updated graphics on the tank, side panel and tail, which help differentiate the X440 T visually from the standard model. It has stickers instead of the 3D emblem on the fuel tank.
New Rider Aids
The Harley-Davidson X440 T has ride-by-wire, which has allowed for 2 riding modes (Road and Rain), and switchable traction control. It also gets switchable ABS, which the standard X440 doesn’t have. The Road mode delivers full performance of the engine, and allows ABS and traction control to be turned off. In the Rain mode, the torque is reduced by about 10 percent, and the safety aids cannot be switched off. The bike also has panic braking alert, which flashes all the indicators under hard braking scenarios.
Same Engine, Same Hardware
The X440 T has the same 440cc air-oil-cooled single-cylinder engine as the X440. Output figures remain unchanged at 27.4PS and 38Nm. The frame, suspension, brakes, fuel tank, seat height, kerb weight, and more – have also been carried over.

The ‘T’ is an entirely new model in the X440 range, and costs the same as what the top-spec X440 S variant was priced at earlier. The prices of the X440 have been reduced, and the Vivid variant is now priced at Rs 2,34,500, and the S at Rs 2,54,900 (both ex-showroom). The two variants have become cheaper by Rs 25,000 and Rs 24,600, respectively. Also, the entry-level Denim variant has been discontinued.
The X440 T sits in the popular affordable retro roadster segment, competing with the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Yezdi Roadster, Jawa 350, Honda CB350, and even the Triumph Speed 400. By improving styling and enhancing the features, the X440 feels a lot more wholesome than before. Deliveries are expected to begin soon across authorised Harley-Davidson and Hero Premia dealerships nationwide.
Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide and Road Glide Launched
The Harley-Davidson CVO Street Glide and CVO Road Glide have been launched in India. Both bikes are extremely premium, with the Street Glide costing Rs 63,03,142, and the Road Glide being priced at Rs 67,36,720 (all ex-showroom Delhi). While they get a lot of goodies over the standard versions of the respective models, they are still pretty expensive.
