India Yamaha Motor (IYM) has launched its first ever hybrid motorcycle, the 2025 FZ-S Fi Hybrid. It is India's first hybrid bike in the 150cc segment It has been priced at Rs 1,44,800 (ex-showroom, Delhi), and is available in a single variant. It is based on the standard FZ-S Fi which costs exactly Rs 10,000 less than the hybrid version.
Design
The FZ-S Fi Hybrid looks similar to the regular FZ-S Fi. The front turn signals are integrated into the fuel tank cover extensions and overall, it looks quite muscular. The FZ-S Hybrid is available in a total of two colour options: Racing Blue and Cyan Metallic Grey.
Engine
The FZ-S Fi is powered by a 149cc, four-stroke, two-valve, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. It produces 12.4PS at 7,250rpm, 13.3Nm at 5,500rpm (same power and torque figures as the standard FZ-S fi), and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. It is compliant with E20 fuel and the new OBD-2B emissions standard. It is equipped with Yamaha's Smart Motor Generator (SMG) and Stop & Start System (SSS).
Hybrid Tech
The hybrid technology centers around a Starter Motor Generator (SMG). This system provides silent engine starts and works as an electric motor that boosts power, providing extra torque during acceleration. This allows the bike to perform more efficiently, especially at lower speeds, during roll-on acceleration, and while overtaking. Although it does not significantly change acceleration times, the extra torque boost helps. The motor-generator also recharges the battery. The system improves mileage as well, with the Fascino and RayZR Hybrid scooters achieving an impressive 71kmpl during our real-world tests.
Underpinnings
It gets a telescopic fork and monoshock in terms of suspension. Braking is handled by a 282mm front and 220mm rear disc brake, paired with single-channel ABS. It has 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends with a 100-section front and 140-section rear tyre, both tubeless. The bike has a seat height of 790mm, ground clearance of 165mm, 13 litre fuel tank, and a kerb weight of 138kg.
Features
The FZ-S Hybrid has a 4.2-inch full-colour TFT instrument cluster. This display features Bluetooth smartphone connectivity through the Y-Connect application. Key features of the app include turn-by-turn navigation linked to Google Maps, call and SMS alerts. It also gets all-LED lighting, side stand engine cut-off, and traction control.

It does not wobble at that speed too while breaking. Bike also looks too good. That's why I choose this bike. The feel while riding this bike was better. As this was my first bike, it's very easy for the beginners to learn on it (if able to handle the weight of bike). Does not decrease the mileage after servicing. If ur cost range is 150 k - 170 k this is very good bike. The clutch is also not too hard too handle. Engine (149cc) is also smooth with Smart Motor Generator (SMG) assist. Handling is also good. - Comfortable good looking bike with good mileageI choose this bike because of Superbike looks with good mileage and more then enough performance for my use, bike is lightweight and easy to handle in city, and good fual tank capacity of 13 liters, and bright headlight.
