Surprisingly, the BS6-compliant version makes the same amount of power and torque as before

  • The Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear was launched in January 2020.
  • Its BS6-compliant engine makes 8.6PS and 9.81Nm.
  • The motorcycle weighs 3.5kg more than the BS4 version.

Bajaj Auto has revealed the specifications of the Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear BS6. Fortunately, it has remained unchanged compared to the BS4-compliant bike. The 115.45cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine comes with an electronic carburettor which helps the bike comply with BS6 emission norms without affecting the price as much as a fuel injector. It generates 8.6PS at 7000rpm and 9.81Nm at 5000rpm.

The engine is mated to a 5-speed transmission. Thanks to the additional emission restricting equipment, the motorcycle weighs 3.5kg more than before, tipping the scales at 122kg kerb. The claimed top speed remains the same at 90kmph. While the massive 200mm ground clearance has remained unchanged, the seat height has been reduced from 807mm to 804mm. The difference is likely in the seat cushion thickness so this shouldn’t have much of an impact. At 1255mm, the wheelbase has remained the same.

The Bajaj Platina 110 H-Gear is built on a tubular single downtube with lower cradle frame linked to a telescopic front fork and a pair of Spring Over Spring (SOS) rear Nitrox shock absorbers. With a 135mm travel up front and a 110mm travel at the rear, the motorcycle should be able to go over rough terrain with ease. Bajaj has done away with a front drum brake-equipped variant, so the bike now comes with a 240mm disc as standard. The rear gets a 110mm drum unit. CBS is offered as standard.

Bajaj has priced the Platina 110 H-Gear BS6 at Rs 59,802 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is just Rs 3,431 dearer than the BS4-compliant version. Primary rivals for this motorcycle include the TVS Radeon BS6, Hero Splendor iSmart 110 BS6 and Hero Passion Pro BS6.
