Adjustable ABS and Torque: From the list of Honda Africa Twin Specifications

Honda has finally come up with technical specifications of it’s new tough machine Africa Twin. The bike is based on its previous model, the original RXV750. and will be available in US market in 2016. Considered to be similar to Honda’s true adventure, Africa Twin might become a successful ride on rough tracks.

A 998 cc bike will be available in 6-speed transmission carrying an option between a slipper clutch and dual-clutch transmission which will make it comfortable in fully automatic shifting. The engine will be a parallel twin, four valves per cylinder with twin-plug SOHC design, 270-degree crankshaft to provide a good traction in the rear wheel, distinct growl.

Torque can be adjusted in the new Africa twin with a facility to close it down in the rear wheel. However, the ABS feature won’t be available in the base model but will possibly be offered in the DCT/ABS version.

Reported Specifications of the new Honda Africa Twin are:

• Engine: Liquid-cooled SOHC 8-valve parallel twin with 270-degree crank

• Displacement: 998 cc

• Transmission: Constant-mesh 6-speed manual / 6-speed DCT with on- and off-road riding modes

• ABS: ABS 2-channel with rear ABS off switch (DCT/ABS model only, not on STD model)
