2020 Suzuki Swish 125cc Scooter Launched In Taiwan

The 2020 version comes in three new colour schemes

The Suzuki Swish made its global debut at the Tokyo Motor Show back in 2017. The 2020 version is priced at an equivalent of Rs 2 lakh. It is powered by a 124cc air-cooled engine which makes 9.4PS and 10Nm.

Suzuki Taiwan has launched the 2020 version of its popular sporty scooter, the Suzuki Swish 125. For 2020, the only addition is the introduction of three new dual-tone colours: blue and silver, red and black, and white and grey. The blue and red dual-tone colour variant comes with colour-coded alloy wheels. With this, the total colour options now stand at five. The scooter is priced at TWD 79,800, which is around Rs 2 lakh. 

Apart from the new colour schemes, the rest of the scooter has remained unchanged. It is powered by a 124cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine which churns out 9.4PS at 7000rpm and 10Nm at 6000rpm. In comparison, the India-spec BS6 Suzuki Access 125 makes 8.7PS and 10Nm. Suzuki claims the scooter can return a claimed mileage of 51.1kmpl, which is pretty good for a 125cc scooter. The scooter uses dual throttle wires for a more precise throttle input and Suzuki Easy Start system for convenient starts.

This sporty 125cc scooter is loaded with features like apron-mounted LED headlamp with LED DRLs and tail lamp as well as a full-LCD instrument cluster with oil change reminder apart from the regular run-of-the-mill information. It gets generous underseat storage thanks to the apron-mounted fuel filler cap. It also comes with an apron-mounted storage compartment with a USB charger and a utility hook on the apron for added practicality.

The Suzuki Swish 125 was unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. This scooter is completely different from the Suzuki Swish (Suzuki Access 125’s sibling), which was once sold in India, before being discontinued in early-2017 due to lack of demand. We had earlier hoped Suzuki would launch this scooter back at Auto Expo 2018, but it launched the Burgman Street instead. As much as we’d love to see this scooter in India, Suzuki is unlikely to bring it here. The brand has a tradition of offering products specifically developed for the Indian market. In fact, Suzuki’s current small-capacity two-wheeler lineup is a standing proof of that.
