The 100th Anniversary edition sports a tastefully-done 2020 MotoGP-inspired livery

  • The 2020 GSX-R150 has been unveiled in Taiwan.
  • Deliveries will commence from mid-July onwards.
  • Suzuki had unveiled the MotoGP livery version earlier this month.

Suzuki Taiwan has introduced the 2020 Suzuki GSX-R150 in the country. Apart from three new colours (red, yellow and black), the motorcycle is also available in the 100th anniversary limited edition guise, in celebration of Suzuki Japan Headquarters’ 100th anniversary. This edition was unveiled earlier this month. Draped in the 2020 Suzuki Ecstar MotoGP livery, it is by far the best-looking MotoGP livery we’ve ever seen. The company is offering an introductory installment offer in the country and says the deliveries will commence from mid-July onwards. Expect the brand to introduce these colours in other South Asian markets like Indonesia and Thailand soon.

The new colour schemes look quite refreshing and help the motorcycle stand out from its predecessors. Other than the new colour updates, the rest of the motorcycle remains unchanged mechanically. Powering this faired bike is a 147cc single-cylinder DOHC engine that puts out  19.2PS at 10,500rpm and 14Nm at 9000rpm. In comparison, the India-spec Yamaha R15 V3 generates 18.6PS and 14.1Nm. Suzuki says the bike returns a mileage of 42kmpl in the city.

The 2020 Suzuki GSX-R150 employs the same telescopic front fork and a rear Showa linked monoshock as before. Brakes include a 290mm front and a 187mm rear petal disc with dual-channel ABS. With a kerb weight of 136kg and a seat height of 785mm, the motorcycle should be effortless to manoeuvre at low speeds or at tight parking spots.

Its feature list includes an LED headlamp and tail lamp, fully digital instrument cluster with a gear position indicator, keyless start system and hazard lamps function. We’d love to see this motorcycle in India but the Japanese brand already offers the 150cc Gixxer & Gixxer SF with an air-cooled fuel-injected motor. At the very least, we hope Suzuki updates the Gixxer SF MotoGP edition with the 2020 livery soon.
