Kawasaki has officially unveiled the Ninja 400 and the updated Ninja 250
Kawasaki has launched the new Ninja 400, as a replacement for the Kawasaki Ninja 300 in the European market. The older Ninja will be discontinued in the European market for not being compliant with Euro-IV norms. Along with it, the Japanese company has also launched an updated version of the Kawasaki Ninja 250.
In terms of design, the Ninja 400 features a larger bodywork, inspired from the H2. It gives the new Kawasaki offering a substantially bigger and wider stance than its predecessor. The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250, on the other hand, gets an all-new front with a sharp nose and a twin headlamp setup. The fairing is also redesigned to give it a more modern and sharp look.
The new 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 400 packs a larger 399cc parallel-twin engine, which produces 45PS of power and 38Nm of torque. According to the company, the new Ninja 400 offers a better low-end torque, while maintaining a smooth throttle response. The Ninja 400 now also comes equipped with assist and slipper clutch which will make the lever 20 per cent lighter to pull.
The 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 250 draws power from a 249cc parallel twin-cylinder, engine which churns out 38.9PS and 23.5Nm of peak torque. The transmission is handled by a 6-speed gearbox. It packs 6PS of more power than its predecessor and at 167kg, it sees a drop of 3kg in its weight.
When compared to the Ninja 300, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 is 6kg lighter, at 168kg (wet), thanks to the new steel trellis frame. The new Ninja also features a 310mm semi-floating disc with Nissin calipers and ABS. In terms of ergonomics, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 has a seat height of just 786mm, making it accessible for every type of rider.
While the Kawasaki Ninja 250 isn’t expected to make it to the Indian market, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 will rival the KTM RC 390 and the BMW G 310R, if launched in the country. However, it still remains to be seen when Kawasaki will launch the Ninja 400 in the Indian market.
Kawasaki Ninja 300 User Reviews
It is a fantastic bike. Dual engines. Aesthetically pleasing. Smooth driving and cruising experience. Authentic servicing and maintenance could be a little challenging given the limited number of Kawasaki stores. It offers 25-30 KMPL mileage in the city, and over 30 on highways. The fuel tank capacity is also huge at 17 liters of petrol. Amazing control of the driver on bike even at top-notch speeds. Read More
Been using it for almost 5 years now and never had it left me on the road stranding. The bike is a superstar with almost 26-30 mileage, it is just an unbeatable combination of power and efficiency. Cornering is so much fun after I upgraded the three and barely I was ever unsatisfied with the looks and styling its got.Read More
I chose Ninja 300 for its performance, strong top-end power as I was about passionate about riding. Its good beginner- friendly and revs without being jerky. Has comfortable ergonomics and is a balanced bike with reliability. So far engine was smooth and linear. Sporty but not aggressive and power is usable for city and highways. Longer rider are somewhat comfortable and is stable. Display and techs are basic and is slightly heavy. Braking could be sharper to some extent. Yes, I would recommend Ninja 300 for smooth, reliable and well-balanced to ride easily and still have fun on rides. It tend to have better performance but lacks some basic features which other bikes in the same segment offer.Read More
I choose this bike mainly because of its smooth engine and highway comfort. It feels very stable at high speed and gives confidence while riding. Looks are sporty and premium which I liked. In city suspension feels little stiff but I was ok with that compromise. Ride experience is mostly positive. On highways it feels planted and smooth even at higher speed. Handling is very good and cornering feels safe. Mileage is decent not too low not too high. In city traffic and bad roads you feel bumps little more. Yes I will recommend this bike to people who love riding on highways and enjoy sporty riding style. It is not for someone who want soft suspension or only daily city use. Buy it if you want performance and feel, avoid if mileage is main concern.Read More
