First showed off at Auto Expo 2018, Honda's latest motorcycle, the XBlade has hit the streets. Built on the same platform, the XBlade sits smack dab in the middle of the commuter-oriented Unicorn 160 on one side, and the sportier Hornet on the other. But with engine and suspension tune clearly inspired more from the Unicorn 160, the XBlade's intentions are to provide a more premium commuter experience to those who want a dose of style without sacrificing practicality.

After a brief hiatus from the Indian market, Honda reintroduced the CBR250R in its BS IV guise at Auto Expo 2018. But barring complying to new emissions norms and sporting an LED headlight, nothing has changed. So in a market now almost rife with more focused, higher performance machines in similar price brackets, does Honda's quarter-litre cracker still hold up? Apart from updates to some of their existing product portfolio, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) took the wraps off the Activa 5G, featuring an updated instrument cluster and LED headlight. But they also unveiled a new motorcycle, the X-Blade, based on the Unicorn 160 platform, that slots between the Unicorn and the Hornet. It gets edgy, angular styling, an LED headlamp, and the company's tried and tested 160cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor. Expect the X-Blade to launch in the next couple of months.

The motorcycle houses a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, four-stroke, air-cooled engine with Honda Eco Technology that comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox having 1 down 4 up shift pattern. The mill generates 10.57 bhp of power at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 10.3 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The motorcycle is launched in three variants, Self-Drum-Alloy at Rs. 59,900, Self-Disc-Alloy at Rs. 62,400 and CBS model at Rs. 64,400 (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available in 5 colours - Geny Grey Metalic, Athletic Blue Metallic, Pearl Amazing White, Black and Rebel Red Metallic.

The bike looks more aggressive and sporty with a meaner naked design. Performance gets better with the inclusion of 162.7cc, air-cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke, SI engine that produces 14.5bhp of power and 14.61Nm of torque. The CB Unicorn 160 stands apart from the standard version as it has got a fully digital cockpit, revised headlamp and tail lamp section along with sporty tank cowls with Honda 3D emblem. The bike is available in two variants: Standard priced at Rs. 71,924 and CBS at Rs. 77,178 (both ex-showroom Delhi). Pearl Igneous Black, Imperial Red Metallic, Geny Gray Metallic and Pearl Amazing White are the color options to choose from.
