Expert Review
The Suzuki Burgman Street is a premium maxi-style scooter that focuses on comfort, practicality, and everyday usability. Its unique design, spacious ergonomics, and smooth engine make it a great choice for city commutes. Suzuki has priced it competitively, which adds to its appeal. While it’s not meant to be sporty, it should offer a relaxed and fuss-free riding experience for daily use.
Intro
The Burgman Street 125 is currently one of the most premium-looking 125cc scooters in India. It gets the same tried-and-tested 125cc engine as the Suzuki Access 125, which is already one of the best in the category. If you are looking for a premium, comfortable, stylish and practical scooter, then the Burgman Street could be a great option.
Take a closer look at the Suzuki Burgman Street before you plan to buy one.
The Burgman stands out with its maxi-style scooter looks, inspired by larger Burgman models sold internationally. It gets a wide apron, a tall windscreen, sharp looking twin-pod LED headlamp, and a long, flowing body design that gives it a big-scooter feel. The stepped seat and a spacious floorboard further add to its premium look. In terms of quality, Suzuki has done a solid job as the fit and finish are good, panel gaps are consistent, and the paint quality feels durable. Burgman Street comes in two variants with ten colour options to choose from, which we have explained in our Burgman Street colours explainer.
The switchgear also feels quite tactile and well-built. Overall, it feels like a proper premium scooter in its segment.
Safety Features
The Burgman Street gets a front disc brake with CBS (Combined Braking System). This braking setup should be more than adequate for city speeds. That said, it still misses out on single-channel ABS, which, as mentioned earlier, is available in the more affordable Access 125.
Convenience Features
It comes with an LCD instrument console that shows speed, fuel level, trip info, and more, available in Ride Connect Variant. It also supports Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and SMS/call alerts. The top-spec Ride Connect TFT variant of the Burgman Street gets a 4.2-inch TFT instrument console, but displays the same information as the LCD counterpart. This variant also gets keyless ignition. The scooter has a 24.6-litre underseat storage on both variants. Other features include, all-LED lighting, which should be more energy efficient, an external fuel filler cap with remotely opening lid, and a USB charging port. One of its biggest strengths is practicality. It offers a large underseat storage space, a front glove box, and even two storage pockets on the apron, and utility hooks. We have detailed everything in our Suzuki Burgman Street features explainer.
Rider Comfort
The Burgman is designed for comfort. It gets a wide and well-cushioned seat along with a relaxed riding posture. The floorboard allows you to stretch your legs forward, which is rare in this segment. This makes it ideal for longer city rides and even occasional highway runs.
Pillion Comfort
The pillion seat is also quite spacious and comfortable. Also, it is quite easy to get on and off, and overall, it’s more accommodating than most 125cc scooters. Sadly, there's no cushioned backrest for the pillion.
Engine & Performance
The Burgman Street is powered by a 124cc air-cooled engine. It produces around 8.42PS and 10.2Nm. It’s tuned for smoothness and efficiency rather than outright performance.
City & Highway Performance
In the city, the scooter should feel refined and easy to ride, same as the Access 125. The acceleration should be smooth, and overall it should handle stop-and-go traffic well. Its highway performance should be adequate as well, and the scooter should cruise comfortably at moderate speeds.
Ride Quality & Handling
Brakes
It gets a front disc and rear drum brake setup, along with CBS (Combined Braking Setup). There's still no single-channel ABS, which is real bummer considering the more affordable Access 125 gets one.
Handling
Despite its larger size, the older Burgman was quite manageable, and the same should be the case now. It gets large 12-inch alloy wheels at both ends which should help in staying stable at higher speeds. Other than this, it should also remain easy to maneuver in city traffic.
Ride Quality
The suspension setup on the previous model was tuned for comfort, and did its job of absorbing small bumps and rough patches quite well. The same is expected with this new version.
Competition
The Burgman Street competes with scooters like the TVS Ntorq 125, Honda Activa 125, Honda Dio 125, Hero Xoom 125 and Aprilia SXR 125. That said, the only other maxi-styled alternative in the 125cc segment is the Aprilia SXR 125.

- Good Things
- Could Be Better
- Looks stylish and is available in multiple premium colour options
- Gets a 4.2-inch TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity
