Yamaha R15 V4 Already On Test?

The test mule sports a refreshed front and different ergos

The test mule sports a refreshed front and different ergos

[Update: Yamaha YZF-R15 Version 4.0, R15M Launched, Prices Start At Rs 1.68 Lakh]

  • The R15 v3 was launched in 2018.
  • Yamaha was supposed to launch a Bluetooth module-equipped version of the R15 soon.
  • The test mule was seen running with a new single-piece headlight like the R7.

It has barely been three years since Yamaha India rode in the third-gen R15, and it seems a facelift is already on its way. A couple of test mules were spotted on the outskirts of Delhi, quite close to Yamaha’s facility. Not only is Yamaha tweaking the design, but the ergonomics seem different too.

The most significant change we can spot is the revised fairing design. Yamaha India might be inspired by the recently unveiled YZF-R7. Hence, the single LED headlight design, which might make the R15 look similar to the larger Yamaha sport bike. Plus, the side vents are different and there’s an additional side panel on which the main fairing is affixed.

One of our problems with the R15 v3 was the narrow width of the clip-ons. They were angled inwards a bit too aggressively, making it a bit of a task for heavyset riders to ride the bike daily. It seems that even though the bars haven’t been raised, they are wider now. This should relieve some tension off your shoulders and wrist.

During the launch of the FZ-X, Yamaha had confirmed that Bluetooth-equipped consoles were underway for the R15 and the MT-15. So, expect the console to be refreshed as well.

We hope to get more clarity from Yamaha shortly.

Over all good bike and also it's all versions

Riding quality is too good. Very huge and look is too brilliant. Just 155 cc but still beat any 200 cc bike. Engine is too reliable. Average is very good compare to other bikes. It gives me 40km per litre mileage and this is too good because it's a sports bike and still it give 40 kmpl mileage. I like it.Read More

A good sports bike

This bike is meant for our age group especially for age group between 18 to 25 years. Going for long drive on this bike will feel like participating in bike race as pick is so good and balance is also very good. Pick up of this bike is very good and you will not feel tired after having long drives. And balance of this bike is very phenomenal and due to which chances of skidding is very less even on slippery roads. Yes, I recommend this bike specially for youngsters who like to ride a racing bike. This has amazing pick up and drives smoothly even on mud and bumpy roads. Though the mileage is low and drives smoothly.Read More

Driven by single person only

Bike's performance is an excellent, powerful pickup, starts easily, one handed used only, driven 7700 km only within 3 and half years. Overall experience is memorable, sound is normal, highway experience is totally amazing, driving R15S vs other bikes is totally different, average can be maintained if we drive well.Read More

The best bike of segment

Its a stylish bike. Very good looking and powerful with a muscular body and heavy duty. I love the bike since beginning, my dream bike and very solid bike. Better in every aspect in mileage, great in looks and performance. It's very sharp looking and comfortable for long rides also a good mileage provider, good acceleration and pickup, fast, smooth, tension free riding and less maintenance bike for sure. In this price range, it's the best. The best bike. I would definitely recommend to young guys, not for old grandpa's, it gonna make you feel royal and elegant, very strong presence and that's why I am recommending this bike to all of my friends. Pocket rocket

The only bike in the segment which provides you punchy power and aggressive position it may have some cons still who are above 5.5 height can ride this rocket comfortable. Personally I love riding sports bike and this is seriously a legendary one in the segment also from 200cc segment. I reached upto 153 of speed on a highway which is so much within a 155cc segment. End of the day its very sexy for enthusiasts who prioritise power over features. So good i mean its powerful but not that torquey its so light weight and too much powerful no braking issues for me personally and mileage i got is around 42 to 45 in city and around 50 on highways too good for college students but you get back pains and spine problems not suitable for long rides good for flicking in traffic. Yes i do, The things you have to consider while buying this is its power packed for a beginner its good for track not suitable for long rides and also you have to be confident while driving this when VVA kicks in you just fly.Read More
