In a surprise move, Yamaha India has announced a massive drop in the prices of the FZ 25 duo. Now, the standard Yamaha FZ 25 costs Rs 1,34,800 while the FZS 25 has been priced at Rs 1,39,300, which is Rs 18,800 and Rs 19,300 less than the earlier pricing. Despite the price reduction, no changes have been made to the equipment. So, what prompted the Japanese manufacturer to slash prices?

The 250cc segment in India hasn’t been quite a moneymaker for manufacturers, despite attempts from brands such as KTM, Suzuki and Bajaj. Yamaha kicked off the segment but soon found itself outshined by competition. Though the Japanese brand has tried to give the bike a new lease of life with the BS6 update, it hasn’t worked in its favour. Yamaha managed to sell only 182 units of the FZ 25 in April. In comparison to 1,089 units of the KTM 250 Duke and 250 Adventure, 461 units of the Bajaj Dominar 250, the bike’s sales numbers are quite low.
The Yamaha FZ 25 falls short on features as well as performance, and despite its good refinement and comfortable ergonomics, it’s best suited as a commuter. I liked the styling and in that price point it is a good choice considering overall performance. In city the torque of the bike feels so good the acceleration is superb and its very underrated machine. The rides are good but when it comes to comfort the handle bar is wider to you have to make your arms wider and the seat cushion is stiffer. The only thing I like about this bike is the torque nature. It accelerates quickly and overtaking becomes easy. The brakes are decent enough but not the greatest. No, I would not recommend this bike as many other options are also available because the issue in its battery was a very bad experience for me. The battery of the bike was damaged and the bike suddenly stopped many times and this is the problem many users are facing yes, if you are considering a bike under 2lakhs 250cc go for it.
Yamaha FZ25 is a very good motorcycle manufactured by the company. It has a 250cc single cylinder air cooled engine which produces 20 nm bhp and 20 nm torque , which feels much better than other vehicles in the segment it only lacks with the sixth gear. Maintenance of this vehicle is pretty much affordable. Its mileage is 35-40kmpl on highway and 32-36kmpl in city
