  • The addition will help the bike comply with upcoming government safety regulations
  • The TVS Victor is available in three variants - Drum, Disc and Disc Premium Edition.
  • It gets a starting price of Rs 54,682 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
  • That’s a hike of Rs 640 over the soon-to-be-discontinued non-SBT version.

TVS Motor Company has launched the Victor with Synchronized Braking Technology (SBT). The update helps the bike comply with the upcoming government safety norm which kicks in on 1 April. The drum and disc variants are priced at  Rs 54,682 and Rs 56,682 respectively, while the Disc Premium Edition gets a price tag of Rs 57,662 (ex-showroom Delhi). That's a minor premium of Rs 640 over the non-STB variants, which will cease to exist in a couple of days.

On a similar note, TVS has also updated its entire Apache RTR range with ABS, which includes the Apache RTR 160, Apache RTR 160 4V and the Apache RTR 180. While the Apache RTR 200 carb already features dual-channel ABS, the FI variant missed out on it. After speaking to a source within the company, we have come to know that TVS will be launching the ABS version of the Apache RTR 200 FI 4V soon. An official announcement is likely to come soon, perhaps even after the deadline lapses.

Despite the price hike, the SBT-equipped Victor slots perfectly in between its rivals such as the Hero Passion XPro and Honda Livo. And considering the bike’s performance, styling and features, we’ say it still makes for a good value for money proposition.

Here’s the official statement from the manufacturer:
