TVS has updated the most affordable motorcycle in its lineup to give us the TVS Sport BS6. It’s no longer a 100cc commuter, and prices have gone up too. So here’s everything you need to know about the updated bike:
Motor Makeover
While the Sport has historically been powered by a 99cc motor, this BS6 version now features a 109.7cc mill. The new engine is now also fed by a fuel-injection system as opposed to the old bike’s carburettor. As expected, engine output is up - from 7.8PS/7.5Nm to 8.29PS/8.7Nm, but fuel efficiency has also increased by a claimed 15 per cent.
Frugal Features
Like before, the Sport’s feature-list is populated by a pass-switch, , electric start, preload-adjustable shock absorbers, CBS and an econometer. New on the BS6 version, though, are some LED DRLs and the fuel-injection system which improves startability in adverse weather conditions.

Updated Underpinnings
The new motor continues to be housed in a single-downtube frame suspended on a conventional telescopic fork and twin preload-adjustable shock absorbers. Wheels continue to be 17-inchers at both ends but tyres are now tubeless unlike the tubed kind seen on the BS4 bike.
Variants & Colours
TVS has trimmed down on the number of variants and colours available on the Sport. While the Sport BS4 was available in 7 colours across 6 variants, you now have to pick between 5 colours and just two variants. The choice is between red, black and red, white and red, grey and white and purple, and you can also choose if you want electric start or not.
Price Hike
As a result of the larger motor, extra technology and other small updates, prices have gone up on the TVS Sport BS6, rather significantly in some cases. The kickstart variant is around Rs 3,600 more expensive than its predecessor, at Rs 51,750, while the electric start variant is over Rs 8,000 more expensive than it was before.

- The best bikeThis is a family bike and its mileage is also very good. It gave me the highest mileage of 68, so I choose this bike. I have driven it for more than 26000 kms, till now but the seating position is best and handling is also very good and the engine does not even hit the engine. It totally depends on you, If you want a mileage bike go for tvs sports, but someone who wants high speed, and stability they should stay away from it. It can get highly vibrating at high speed. Also comfort not good for this bike, for long ride, you can experience back pain. I have gone through various roads, I live in Mumbai, I have even gone to Puna from my bike, with my friends, with full petrol, still got petrol left when I reached prayagraj. - TVS, a milage killerThis is my first bike, gifted to me by my father, the bike has great mileage, I have gone through various roads, I live in varanasi, I have even gone to prayagraj from my bike, with my friends, with full petrol, still got petrol left when I reached prayagraj. Overall a very excellent bike, if mileage is considered. The bike is very good, the best positive is its mileage and low maintenance, I can easily able to get a mileage of 50 kmpl after 9 years of usage. The main negative of the bike is that it start to vibrate when I take it to very high speed, and the seat is uncomfortable for long journey. It totally depends on you, If you want a mileage bike go for tvs sports, but someone who wants high speed, and stability they should stay away from it. It can get highly vibrating at high speed. The mileage performance of this bike is very good but it is a very light bike, due to which this bike is not for young age boy but it is very good for old age boy , the light of this bike is good and it goes to a long distance. This bike is good at its price, no other bike in that price will be able to give such good mileage. I did not buy this bike from the showroom because I bought it second hand.
