The 150cc sporty scooter segment is about to get hotter

    Quick News Highlights

    • TVS Ntorq 150 to be launched on September 4

    • Expected price between Rs 1.3-1.4 lakh (ex-showroom)

    • Will take on Yamaha Aerox, Hero Xoom 160 and Aprilia SR 175

TVS Motor Company is all set to launch its first 150cc scooter - the Ntorq 150 - tomorrow on 4 September 2025. This marks TVS’ entry into the growing 150-160cc sporty scooter segment, which currently includes the Yamaha Aerox 155, Hero Xoom 160 and Aprilia SR 175.

    Design

The TVS Ntorq 150 is expected to carry forward the sharp and sporty styling of its 125cc sibling but in a larger, more aggressive package. The teaser had already revealed a new apron-mounted quad-LED projector headlamp setup.

    Engine

While TVS has not confirmed the exact engine details, we think it could be a bigger, re-bored version of the current 125cc Ntorq motor. The 150cc mill is expected to produce between 12-14PS and 12-13Nm - the figures could mostly be on par with the Aprilia SR 175.

    Underpinnings

The bigger Ntorq will likely use a modified version of the TVS Ntorq 125’s tubular steel chassis, telescopic fork and monoshock. It will get a front disc and rear drum brake setup, with single-channel ABS. We expect it to weigh 3-4kg more than the 125’s 111kg kerb weight, an underseat storage between 20-25 litres, close to 6 litres of fuel tank capacity, and have an external fuel-filler cap.

    Features

This TVS scooter is expected to be loaded with features, much like the 125cc version. Anticipated equipment includes all LED lights, a colour TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, voice assist, and ride modes. The 125 already gets all these, so we expect the 150 to offer even more and TVS has a habit of giving more features than its competition. These features are already integrated seamlessly in the 125, and we can hope the same from the 150.

    Price & Rivals

The Ntorq 150 is expected to be priced between Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it directly against the Aprilia SR 175. The Hero Xoom 160 and Yamaha Aerox cost a bit more as they have liquid-cooled engines.

    BikeDekho Says

The Ntorq 125 has consistently been one of the highest-selling 125cc sporty scooters in India since its debut in 2018. With the launch of the Ntorq 150, TVS is looking to replicate that success in the now emerging 150-160cc sporty scooter space. If the scooter delivers on styling, features and value, the festive season launch could give it a strong start in the market.

      Good TVS Scooty Rate 4.7.
I recently bought a TVS ntorq about 20 days ago and have ridden around 350 km. It’s very comfortable to ride and the mileage is around 30–35 km/l. Overall, I’m really happy with the performance and would rate this scooty 4.7 out of 5. this is my 1st scooty and best scooty in year 2025 in my little experience.

best sporty scooter under 1.5 Lakhs
I have used ntorq 125 in the past and decided to upgrade to ntorq 150 because I liked the new design and TFT display, the performance is good and best thing is that this machine is very quick you won't be disappointed with it's performance. Ntorq 150 gives confidence and its stable at high speed, abs works fine, lights are great, TFT display looks good but it could be brighter and the boot space is quite small as no it does not fit a full size helmet. I would recommend this scooter If you want a some kind of compact sporty scooter with good mileage and features, yes you can go for it it won't disappoint you but TVS should have used 14 inches wheels and LC engine that's a huge bummer.

Saved Up for the Race XP
I wanted a scooter that did not feel slow. After riding my cousin’s Ntorq 150 on a short trip I was shocked by its power. It looked aggressive and felt like a sports bike but with scooter comfort. I loved the digital meter and sound. I saved up for 4 months and finally got the Race XP variant. It has been thrilling. The ride is smooth and fast. I take it to college, gym and even long night rides. It handles bumps well and feels stable on curves. The Bluetooth music control and navigation help me a lot. Definitely yes If someone wants a scooter that gives you power, features and fun this is the one. I tell everyone to test ride it once before choosing any other scooter. It is perfect for city rides and short weekend trips. Totally happy with my choice!

      Test Ride Changed My Mind
I did not plan to buy Ntorq 150 at all. I went to buy different scooter but the showroom guy insisted I try it once. The power shocked me. It was not even my budget but I stretched it and I am so glad I did. You know something’s right when it makes you change your plan in 10 minutes. Feels powerful yet smooth. The controls respond quickly and I have never felt unsafe even in bad weather. It is been 1 year now and I still enjoy it every day. I even gifted a ride to my dad once and he said it felt like a plane on wheels. That moment made me proud of my choice. Yes, yes, yes. Sometimes we plan one thing but the destiny puts better options in front of us. That is what this scooter was for me. Great features, performance and surprisingly good mileage too. Everyone should test ride it once that is all it takes.
