TVS Apache RTR 310 Old vs New: Differences Explained
The 2025 model gets lots of additional features, that too at an introductory price that’s lower than the price of the older Apache RTR 310!
TVS recently launched the updated Apache RTR 310 in India at an introductory price of Rs 2,39,990 (ex-showroom Delhi). When compared to the previous model, the updated bike gets quite a few additional features, among others. Here are all the differences between the old and new RTR 310:
Design
For 2025, TVS has kept the design unchanged for the Apache RTR 310, it gets the same sharp streetfighter design language as before complete with an angular headlight and sleek tail panels. Along with this, TVS has introduced new colour options for the motorcycle. While the Fury Yellow and Arsenal Black existed before, TVS has reworked the graphics for a fresher look. Additionally, the Fiery Red is an all new colour, and we quite like it.
Along with this, the Sepang Blue paint scheme remains exclusive to the BTO (built to order) variant and now gets red alloy wheels. Other aesthetic changes include the addition of hand guards as standard, which were an optional accessory in the previous version. Like the Apache RR 310, the 2025 model also gets a transparent clutch cover. This is not present in the previous-gen bike.
Engine
The updated Apache RTR 310 uses the same 312.12cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor as before, but TVS has tweaked the internals to allow the engine to breathe better. That said, it makes the same 35.6PS at 9,700rpm and 28.7Nm at 6,650rpm as the previous-gen bike. It gets a 6-speed gearbox with a slip and assist clutch with a bidirectional quickshifter.
The slip function in the clutch allows the rear wheel to slip a bit when downshifting hard, thereby preventing the wheel from locking up and losing grip. The assist function, on the other hand, ensures the clutch lever action is light. With the help of the bidirectional quickshifter, you can shift up or down without needing to pull the clutch lever.
Underpinnings
It uses the same split trellis frame along with 43mm inverted fork and rear monoshock with preload adjustability, while the BTO variant continues with the fully adjustable KYB suspension. The fully adjustable suspension allows the rider to tune the suspension as per their weight and road surface. This makes the motorcycle handle at its best - whether it's being used for touring, racing or commutes.
There is a 300mm front and a 240mm rear petal disc brake setup, with dual channel ABS, same as before. The Apache RTR 310 gets sintered Brembo brake pads, which has been standard even in the older version. It helps in offering much better braking performance and superior life compared to conventional organic pads. At 169kg (kerb) the weight remains unchanged. It gets a seat height of 810mm and ground clearance of 180mm, both of which are the same as the previous-gen bike.
Features
The previous-gen Apache RTR 310 was by far the most feature-packed bike in the 300cc segment, and for 2025, the brand has given it even more goodies. It now gets a launch control, cornering traction control, engine braking control along with new sequential turn indicators. Features like launch control and cornering traction control helps in extracting more performance from the bike with ease, and the engine braking control helps in controlling the engine braking sensitivity during downshifting aggressively or while riding down a sloped road. Along with these, the bike also gets a premium feature - keyless ignition. As the name suggests, this feature allows starting the bike from a distance with the help of the key fob.
Along with the new rider aids, the 2025 motorcycle shares other already existing riding aids including cornering ABS, cornering traction control, wheelie control, rear lift off control, and 5 ride modes: Track, Sport, Supermoto, Urban and Rain. The bike makes the maximum power in Track, Sport and Supermoto mode, and the least power in Rain and Urban mode (27PS and 27.3Nm). This makes it easy to control during rains or while riding in the city.
One of the most talked about (but not very practical) features was the climate control seat that allowed the rider to warm up or cool the seat depending on the weather. This feature has been removed in the 2025 version. The 5-inch TFT console uses the same format as before, but has been updated to support multiple languages. Features like smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, SMS/call alerts, and digital document storage remain unchanged.

While launch control only makes sense in track riding, the rest of the features are pretty practical for everyday use. Hats off to TVS for not only keeping the final price more or less the same as the previous-gen bike, but also offering an introductory pricing that ensures an even better value for money. While TVS has not specified till when the introductory pricing is valid, you might want to hurry up if you’re looking to get your hands on one. With the updates, the 2025 Apache is a much more well-rounded bike than its predecessor.
