This 2025 Honda CBR150R Special Edition Says “Tiger Zinda Hai”

Honda Malaysia has launched the Special Edition CBR150R with new CyberRoar colour scheme. The special edition is limited to 250 units and is priced at 14,399 Malaysian Ringgit (ex-showroom), which is around Rs 2.90 lakh, making it Rs 20,000 more expensive than the regular colour variants.

The special edition also comes with a gift pack, which includes a SJCAM C100+ Mini Action Camera, a LUVIN G8 Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom and a backpack with LED reflectors.

The CyberRoar colour scheme features a magenta and black dual tone colour scheme, complimented by orange graphics and a beautiful looking tiger roaring on the side of the fairing. It’s likely a tribute to the Malayan Tiger, the national animal of Malaysia, and Honda has done a wonderful job with this custom paint scheme.. This isn’t the first time Honda has launched a special edition of the CBR150R. It had earlier launched the MotoGP-themed Repsol Edition of the CBR150R in Malaysia back in July 2022.

Other than the aforementioned changes, the bike remains the same as before. It is still powered by the same 149.2cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine which produces 16.3PS at 9,000rpm and 13.7Nm at 7,000rpm. It features an inverted fork and a linked monoshock suspension setup, and rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels at both ends. Braking setup consists of a petal-discs with dual-channel ABS. 

The standard edition of the bike is offered in two colours: The Honda Tricolour and Silver. The Tricolour is similar to the red, white and blue colour scheme offered on the higher capacity CBR650R and even  the Honda CBR1000R Fireblade. The Silver colour scheme, on the other hand, comes with body panels in silver with fluorescent yellow highlights.

The older-gen Honda CBR150R was once sold in India, alongside the Honda CBR250R. The brand had discontinued both bikes a while back, and it doesn't look like they will be bringing back either of the two. That said, we really wish Honda would consider bringing back the CBR150R at least, as it would make for a good rival to the Yamaha R15 V4 in India. Afterall, the brand had been giving us pleasant surprises with the launch of the extremely unique Honda X-ADV 750 and the Honda Rebel 500, and even a couple of larger-capacity Hornets.

Also, the 150-160cc segment is pretty hot-and-happening, but the R15 and MT-15 range have been the only bikes with a liquid-cooled engine in this space. To counter their domination, KTM is working on 160cc liquid-cooled bikes - the KTM RC 160 and the KTM Duke 160. This seems to be the right time to cash-in on the segment for Honda in India, in our opinion.
