Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 Spotted Testing

Everyone has been waiting for the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 for a long time, and now we can show you some new spy shots of the bike, taken during recent testing in Southern Europe. It was spotted once before as well.

Design

With its bigger body, the Himalayan 650 is expected to be great for long distance touring. The Himalayan 650 looks like a proper all-terrain bike, with good weather protection from its large front cowl. Like the current Himalayan, the rear lights are integrated into the turn signals.

Features

The instrument cluster appears to be a new, rectangular TFT display. Similar to the console on the Himalayan 450, the 650cc ADV is also expected to get Bluetooth connectivity for Google Maps navigation, music control and the ability to respond to your calls and messages. This test bike is loaded with extra sensors for testing. 

Hardware

The ADV is seen with a fully adjustable inverted fork in the spy shots, which may or may not make it to the final version. The rear seems to feature a monoshock with a linkage, which suggests this is an all-new chassis. The Himalayan 650 test bike has a 19-inch front and a 17-inch rear wheel, which is typical for road-biased adventure bikes like these. The braking setup consists of twin front discs with Bybre calipers and a single rear disc, which means that braking power will be much stronger than what we’ve seen on previous Royal Enfield bikes. The fuel tank looks to be about 15 liters or more.

Engine

The 650cc engine in other Royal Enfield bikes makes about 47PS and 52Nm, so we can expect similar numbers from the Himalayan 650. The exhaust pipes and muffler are new, and the oil cooler has been moved to a different position.

We can expect more details about the Royal Enfield Himalayan 650 in the coming months. It could also have the new 750cc twin-cylinder engine, debuting in the upcoming Continental GT 750. Also, the bike is expected to be launched by the end of 2025 with a price tag of about Rs 4 to Rs 4.2 lakh (ex-showroom).
