A test mule of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 has been spotted in Chennai, close to the bikemaker’s headquarters. What’s interesting is that it was seen with alloy wheels instead of the regular wire-spoke ones we’ve seen on the cafe racer.
Royal Enfield also seems to be trying out different rim tapes for the wheels which might be offered as standard or as part of the MiY store. The tyres seem to be the same tubeless CEATs that are currently offered on the Conti with a tube inside them.
The test mule also had a new, round tail lamp, similar to the one seen on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350.
Why Alloys?
Alloy wheels are a big boon on our Indian roads. While we get the charm and appeal of wire spoke wheels, repairing punctures becomes a big pain. So convenience over style could prove beneficial.
Would Royal Enfield offer these rims as standard? Perhaps, on a few colour options like we have seen on the Classic 350’s Dark Stealth Black and Dark Gunmetal Grey colour schemes. The wheels can also be part of the company’s Make-it-Yours initiative where buyers can spec out their Royal Enfields with accessories and get it delivered straight from the factory.
For the small styling updates, the next model could arrive shortly at a minor price premium. The wheels could retail at Rs 10,000 as an accessory. As for particular variants that will get the alloys, the prices are likely to go up by Rs 6,000-Rs 7,000 for the added convenience. We also expect the same bunch of changes to arrive on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650.

If given second chance of choosing bike, I would still pick this up instead of speedy KTM bikes. Only problem it has is the weight is hard to manage and it can be hard to turn in corners but I knew what I was buying. Its a good bike, I have some burn marks on my legs but that is what I expect it gets hot and you can feel the heat in city but it won't shut down and cause issue, you should treat it like a 600 cc bike and properly respect its weight in corners and city. Only if you have other bikes and cars. This being your primary day to day bike is not can be easy to use in a city or day to day commute to office. It will be too much of power and weight. - Its a whole different vibe with 650That bulky boy and speed makes the bike very attractive and muscular and it gives the vibe that other bike can't give you if you'er going to college or office the royal enfild continental gt 650 would be the best option. Eventually its good for mileage and comfort for short rides if you have the capacity for riding on full throttle then you will get deficiencies for mileage, if we ride like a gentleman then we can feel the comfort and safety.
