The QC1 looks similar to the Activa e:, but both have a lot of differences including the motor, battery, brakes and more
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently unveiled the QC1 electric scooter along with the Activa electric. Both the scooters share a similar design, but also have a lot of differences in terms of battery pack, brakes, features and more. Moreover, we expected the QC1 to be the more affordable scooter out of the two.
Honda QC1 Electric Scooter: Features
The Honda QC1 electric scooter comes with all-LED lighting, like any other electric scooter. It features a 5-inch LCD instrument console which shows the speedometer, odometer, battery, range, tripmeter, display modes and other important information. However, it misses out on smartphone connectivity and navigation which the Honda Activa e: has.
The Honda QC1 electric scooter comes with ride modes: Standard and Econ. Standard mode would be good enough to ride around the city, whereas the Econ mode would be useful when you want the most range from the scooter. Additional features on the QC1 e-scooter include a USB Type-C charging port and a 26-litre underseat storage compartment.
More About the Honda QC1
The Honda QC1 electric scooter gets a hub-mounted motor that makes 1.8kW of peak power and its top speed is limited to 50kmph, whereas the Honda Activa e:: has a mid-mounted electric motor. It gets a removable 1.5kWh battery pack, but the QC1 is equipped with a fixed 1.5kWh battery pack, providing a claimed range of 80km on a single charge. Because of the fixed battery pack, the QC1 gets a wall-mounted charger which charges the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 4.5 hours (claimed).
The QC1 gets a telescopic fork and 5-step adjustable dual rear shocks. It has drum brakes on both ends, with CBS (combined braking system). The electric scooter rides on a 12-inch front wheel and a 10-inch rear, fitted with 90-section tyres. It has a generous ground clearance of 169mm and weighs 89.5kg (kerb).
Expected Launch & Price
The Honda QC1 will be launched in January 2025, along with the Activa electric. Both the scooters will be launched in a phased manner and will arrive in the cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru in the first phase, followed by other prominent cities in India. We expect the QC1 to be priced lower than the Activa electric, somewhere around Rs 1 lakh (ex-showroom, including subsidy).
Booking for the scooter will start on January 1, 2025, and the deliveries will begin from February 2025. Along with the regular warranty of 3 years or 50,000km, Honda is also providing three free services and Roadside Assistance (RSA) for the first 12 months for free.
