The two-wheeler is slated for a launch on 12 June

  • A scooter was recently spied at ARAI for homologation purposes.

Honda Two-wheelers will be launching its first BS6-compliant two-wheeler on 12 June 2019. The company has sent us a press invite with a brief teaser of a pin falling on the ground, and a caption that reads “Please hold a pin drop silence”.

So what could it be? We’ve come to know that it could be the all-new Honda Activa 125. This doesn’t come as a surprise considering the Honda Activa 125 has been in dire need of an update for a long time. The updated scooter was recently spied, with a whole host of cosmetic changes.

However, the biggest update here will come in the form of a fuel-injected, BS6-compliant engine. Whether there will be a power bump or not remains to be seen. If true, this will only be the second Fi scooter in our market alongside the recently launched Maestro Edge 125 Fi

Speaking of competition, the Honda Activa 125 has fallen far behind its rivals - the TVS NTorq 125, Suzuki Access, and others. With the BS6 norms set to kick in from next year, Honda will attempt to get ahead of its competition. Will this help it in getting an edge over its competition? We’ll find out soon.

As far as pricing is concerned, expect it to retail for around Rs 62,000 (ex-showroom). We will be bringing you all the dope on the new offering as and when we get it. For more details, stay tuned to BikeDekho for all the latest updates.
