KTM, one of the fastest growing foreign manufacturer in India, has now joined the list of companies that have introduced (DRL) ‘daytime running headlights’ in the country. Recently, the Austrian manufacturer featured its Duke 390 with a slipper clutch which will also be seen in its RC 390 anytime soon. KTM is also known for high-end equipment used in motorcycles and it became one of the few companies to use daytime headlights and remove light switches from the panel. To meet Euro 4 emission norms, KTM equipped its RC 390 with side mounted exhaust along with ride-by-wire technology and adjustable levers for its 2016 models.

There is no official announcement made by the company on daytime running lights (DRL’s), but sources confirmed that the company will now bring this feature in its upcoming units. Also, the displayed picture clearly shows the removed light switch which was located above the engine start button. However, there are no changes in the LED that can be spotted, instead the parking light and low beam light of the motorcycle will remain on all the day long, just as the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and Yamaha R3. The change will increase the visibility of the bike 24 hours a day.

DRL (daytime running lights) will be made mandatory by the government for all two-wheelers from 2017. KTM will introduce the feature in its existing models such as Duke 200, Rc 200, Duke 390 and RC 390. A negligible price hike can be seen in the lineup and no other changes will be done except for the model RC 390 which will be introduced with a slipper clutch.

With various companies introducing their upcoming models at the 2016 Indian Auto-Expo, KTM will be missed by the spectators. The company has become successful manufacturer in India and turned into a hit in the track focused segment. Recently, KTM also won Dakar 2016 with Toby Price as its rider.
