Jawa has revealed that the BS6-compliant Jawa Perak bobber’s engine has been tuned further to produce 1.74Nm more than the 31Nm torque figure mentioned earlier. The 334cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine now produces 32.74Nm of torque and the peak power stands at 30.64PS (up by 0.23PS). Jawa says it has also optimised the ratios of the 6-speed transmission for a better riding experience.
Earlier, we had reported that deliveries of the Perak will commence from July 20 after delays caused by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Now, Jawa has announced special finance offers in a bid to make the bobber even more alluring for buyers in these trying times. As part of the offers, buyers can avail a 50 per cent discount on the first three EMIs. There’s a special EMI plan available at Rs 6,666 per month as well. Regular EMI plans start from Rs 8,000 per month for two years and Rs 6,000 per month for three years.
The company also says it can provide 100 per cent funding, zero downpayment and there’s no proof of income required either. All these are of course with the necessary terms and conditions applied. The finance schemes are available across all authorised Jawa dealerships across the country.
The Jawa Perak is the brand’s most powerful motorcycle in India. It is also the most affordable bobber in the country, priced at Rs 1,94,500 (ex-showroom, Delhi). Notable features of this motorcycle include the minimalistic bobber styling with a unique swingarm akin to the Triumph Bonneville Bobber. The design of the swingarm makes the motorcycle strictly a single seater. There’s no optional pillion seat available either. While there are no direct competitors to the Jawa Perak BS6, the dual-channel ABS variant of the Royal Enfield Classic 350 BS6 and the recently launched Benelli Imperiale 400 come pretty close.
