The initial timeline had to be pushed ahead due to the COVID-19 pandemic

[UPDATE: The Jawa Perak BS6 specifications have been updated. It is slightly torquier than before and you can read all about it here.]

  • Jawa faced issues with the supply chain which affected its delivery schedule.
  • Deliveries for the Perak were supposed to begin from April 2.
  • BS6 Jawa and Jawa Forty-Two have already started reaching dealerships.

Jawa is all set to commence deliveries of its factory custom bobber, the Perak, from July 20, 2020. The brand was earlier scheduled to begin deliveries for the bobber from April 2, however, all plans had to be scrapped due to COVID-19. That said, most two-wheeler manufacturers including Jawa have resumed operations across factories and dealerships in India with all the safety guidelines in place.

The Perak is priced at Rs 1,94,500 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 30,500 more expensive than the standard Jawa. Interested customers can book the bike online for a token amount of Rs 10,000 via the company’s official website. Jawa is also offering test rides at home, office or the dealership based on customer convenience.

The Perak is powered by a bored-out version of the 293cc single-cylinder engine seen on the Jawa and the Forty Two. The 334cc liquid-cooled DOHC motor makes 30.4PS and 31Nm, mated to a 6-speed transmission. The Perak doesn’t have any direct rival. The upcoming Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will be the only other option if you’re looking at a factory custom bike.
