This guide will help you decide between the two variants

    Variants

The Jawa 42 Bobber is available in two variants: Alloy Wheel and Spoke Wheel. While both versions share the same engine, chassis, and overall bobber styling, there are a few important differences when it comes to wheels and colour options.

Here’s a closer look at how the two Jawa 42 Bobber variants differ from each other and which one makes more sense depending on your riding needs.

Jawa 42 Bobber Alloy Wheel Variant

    Price: Rs 2,19,950 (ex-showroom)

    Alloy variant

The Alloy Wheel variant is the more modern and feature-rich version of the Jawa 42 Bobber lineup. As the name suggests, this variant gets diamond-cut alloy wheels instead of traditional wire-spoke units. More importantly, the alloy wheels allow Jawa to offer tubeless tyres, which immediately improves everyday practicality.

For riders who frequently travel long distances or commute daily, tubeless tyres are a major advantage because punctures are easier to manage and generally safer at highway speeds. This alone could become a deciding factor for many buyers.

    Front and Back

Visually, the alloy wheels also give the motorcycle a slightly cleaner and more contemporary look. The blacked-out wheel finish blends well with the bike’s dark mechanical components and low-slung bobber styling.

The Alloy Wheel variant is available only in the Black Mirror colour. This particular colour scheme especially complements the more premium and modern visual identity of this variant.

Feature-wise, this variant gets the fully digital instrument console, full-LED lighting setup, hazard lights, and dual-channel ABS just like the Spoke Wheel version. The adjustable rider seat and assist-and-slipper clutch are also offered here.

    Back

Mechanically, there are no changes compared to the Spoke Wheel variant. The Alloy Wheel model continues to be powered by the same 334cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 29.9PS and 30Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Because of the tubeless tyre setup and slightly more premium overall appearance, the Alloy Wheel variant feels more suited for buyers looking for a balance between classic styling and modern practicality.

Jawa 42 Bobber Spoke Wheel Variant

    Rs 2,04,950 - Rs 2,10,950 (ex-showroom)

    Spoke Wheels

The Spoke Wheel variant gets traditional wire-spoke wheels that visually suit the retro bobber’s design extremely well.

The spoke wheels give the motorcycle a more vintage and authentic custom-bike appearance. It comes in 3 colour options: Jasper Red, Moonstone White and Mystique Copper. Riders who prefer a more classic and old-school visual identity may find this version more appealing than the cleaner-looking alloy wheel model.

    Spoke wheels colours

However, the spoke wheel setup also means this variant gets tubed tyres instead of tubeless units. While this is not necessarily a major issue for city riding, puncture repairs and long-distance touring convenience are not as straightforward compared to the Alloy Wheel variant.

In terms of features, the Spoke Wheel version still gets the same digital instrument cluster, all-LED lighting setup, hazard lights, dual-channel ABS, and adjustable rider seat.

    SW Rear

The Spoke Wheel variant feels more targeted towards buyers who prioritise retro styling authenticity over outright convenience. Since the Jawa 42 Bobber itself is already a stylish motorcycle, many riders may actually prefer the more traditional look offered by the spoke wheels.

    Which Variant Should You Buy?

The choice between the Jawa 42 Bobber Alloy Wheel and Spoke Wheel variants mainly comes down to whether you prioritise practicality or old-school bobber looks.

    Alloy wheels

The Alloy Wheel variant makes more sense for riders who plan to use the motorcycle regularly for commuting or touring because the tubeless tyres offer a clear advantage in terms of convenience and puncture management. The alloy wheels also give the bike a slightly more premium and contemporary appearance.

    SW Rear

On the other hand, the Spoke Wheel variant feels more visually authentic to the traditional bobber look. The wire-spoke wheels suit the motorcycle’s retro-custom design extremely well and give it a stronger old-school character. Riders who care more about styling and visual nostalgia may prefer this version despite the tubed tyre setup.

My review of jawa 42 bobber
The looks of the bike is absolutely fenomenal the bike is extremely unique because no brand offers a proper bobber bike for such affordable price only few bobber bikes are available in india for ex indian bobber or triumph bonnevile bobber and this jawa 42 bobber this bike is almost amazing to ride and it brings pure joy and fun fully value for money. Extremely good. i have ridden many types of bikes from many different brands but this is absolutely beautiful to ride, the performance is absolutely good although i have few minor issues like heating issue. oh man please i have special request to jawa that please do something about heating issue, the bike heats so much it is unbelievable, also sometimes just sometimes the front brakes make wierd noises and also i have another small issue which is rear brakes. rear brakes are very weak. i will always recommend to use front brakes because rear brakes are very weak of this bike so be careful with brakes, otherwise besides these minor issues the bike is absolutely perfect to ride and beautiful. I would definitely recommend this bike, why because this is bike that is only one and only in its segment, no brand i repeat no brand makes or offer affordable proper bobber motorcycle, some brand try to replicate like royal enfield but this outclass classic 350 very easily, the price is extremely affordable for such a bike.

      My riding experience
The biggest reason is its appearance. The floating single seat, wide rear tyre and minimalist design made it stand out. I loved the custom bike look straight from the factory. That made me choose this bike. As a solo rider, I find the seat comfortable for daily commute and short to medium highway trips although the suspension is a bit firm on rough roads. As for mileage, it is around 25 to 30 kmpl in normal riding. A solo rider would love this bike for various purposes such as everyday use or short commute or even long road trips in various terrain. The fuel to kilometre capacity is not a problem for me. Considering the current petrol crisis in India, this bike is quite manageable.
