The motorcycle accessories range from Rs 190 to Rs 750

Accessories include protective, aesthetic and practicality-enhancing parts. The India-spec model gets very basic accessories unlike the international-spec bike. All the add-ons are available at authorised Yamaha dealerships.

Yamaha India has revealed a range of accessories for its newly-launched performance naked motorcycle, the MT-15. The list of add-ons includes protective, aesthetic and practicality-enhancing parts. The company offers a tank pad and seat cover at Rs 190 and Rs 350 respectively to protect them from scratches and wear. Additionally, the pillion seat also comes with an extra 8mm cushioning to enhance comfort. For those sitting sideways, Yamaha offers a pillion footrest too, for Rs 450. There’s a small skid plate on offer as well, for Rs 500, but the build quality isn’t exactly rugged enough to protect the underbelly from bigger debris.

The Japanese company also offers a handlebar-mounted USB charging port, but it is priced at a slight premium, at Rs 750. Spend an extra Rs 350 and you’ll get a neat-looking mobile phone holder, but it doesn’t have a protective casing. So, you’ll have to be careful while using it during monsoons. On the other hand, the USB port does come with a cap to protect it from water ingress during the rains. Other miscellaneous products include a black polo tee (Rs 1000) with MT logo up front and Yamaha logo at the back, a MT sticker (Rs 80) and a MT metal keychain (Rs 100).

Compared to the official accessories sold abroad, the list for the Indian market is quite basic. There are no performance upgrades like Daytona exhaust or Metzeler rear tyre either, which the YZF-R15 Version 3.0 gets. All the accessories are available at authorised Yamaha dealerships. The MT-15 is priced at Rs 1.36 lakh, ex-showroom, and its nearest competitor would be the KTM 125 Duke.
