With a sportier appeal, the Honda NX 125 makes for the perfect balance between sporty and commuter

Honda has the Grazia 125 sporty scooter offering here in India, but in China, it offers the much sportier looking NX 125, which has been updated for 2022. However, the updates are purely cosmetic, and mechanically the bike remains completely unchanged.

Talking about the design, the NX 125 is properly sporty with an aggressive design, sharp and edgy body panels with a very cool-looking LED headlight setup that integrates the turn indicators and LED DRLs. What’s new here are the four dual tone colour schemes: red-white, orange-grey, dark and light grey, and white-blue combinations. Unlike the clean and simple colour options available previously, these colours impart a sportier appeal, making them more attractive to younger riders.

Powering the scooter is the same 125cc fuel injected motor that is good for 8.9PS and 9.87Nm. As compared to the Grazia 125, the NX 125 makes 0.7PS more and 0.4Nm less.

Features on the NX 125 include two spacious pockets up front to store your phone (or knick-knacks), and it comes with a USB charging socket as well. Honda has equipped it with a negative-lit digital instrument console that displays all the essential information. It misses out smartphone connectivity as seen on the TVS NTorq 125.

It runs on a telescopic fork up front and a rear monoshock. It rolls on a 12-inch front wheel and a 10-inch rear wheel. Braking hardware includes a disc brake up front and a drum brake at the rear. What’s interesting is that the Honda NX125 weighs 106kg (same as the Grazia) and has a larger 6.6 litre fuel tank as compared to its Indian cousin’s 5.5 litre fuel tank.

With a price tag equivalent to Rs 1.12 lakh, the NX 125 is on the pricier side of the spectrum with not too many features on offer. The Grazia 125 costs Rs 80,175 (ex-showroom Delhi) here in India.

If you are looking for a sporty and feature packed 125cc scooter in India, you can check out the TVS NTorq 125 and Suzuki Avenis.
