Both the Standard and Deluxe variants of the scooter have received a small price hike

  • The Honda Dio BS6 was launched at Rs 59,990 for the Standard version and Rs 63,340 for the Deluxe variant.
  • Thankfully, the recent premium isn’t all that much.
  • Honda has also started resuming dealership operations in green and orange zones across the country.

Honda has hiked the price of the Honda Dio BS6 and its variants for the first time. The scooter was launched at Rs 59,990 for the Standard version and Rs 63,340 for the Deluxe model. Now, with a Rs 552 price hike, the base variant will set you back by Rs 60,542 whereas the Deluxe version costs Rs 63,892. All prices are ex-showroom Delhi. At this price, the top-end variant is just Rs 1,418 behind the base variant of the bigger-engined Hero Destini 125 BS6.

Earlier in April, the Honda Activa 6G, Honda Activa 125 BS6 and the Honda SP 125 became dearer by Rs 552. It is likely that these are regular price hikes. Apart from the added premium, the rest of the scooter remains unchanged.

The Honda Dio BS6 comes with an all-new 109.51cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected engine that does duty in the Activa 6G as well. In the sporty scooter, this motor churns out 7.7PS at 8000rpm and 9Nm at 4750rpm. The scooter is loaded with features like a fully digital instrument cluster with mileage indicator (DLX variant only), LED headlamp, external fuel filler, engine kill switch and even a silent start system. You can read more about the scooter here.

There are no direct rivals to the Honda Dio BS6 in the 110cc segment as the BS6-compliant version of the Hero Maestro Edge 110 hasn’t been launched yet. But if you’re looking for a sporty scooter, then the TVS NTorq 125 comes close, albeit at a small premium. In a related development, Honda has started opening up dealerships in a phased manner in green and orange zones. You can read more about it here.
