Hefty price bump but quite a few changes

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) recently launched the 2025 Dio 125 in India. While the popular sporty scooter retains its familiar design language and same underpinnings, it gets several updates in terms of features, pricing, and the latest OBD-2B emission norm-compliance. Here’s an explainer detailing the differences between the new Dio 125 and the outgoing model:

    Pricing

The 2025 Honda Dio 125 sees a noticeable increase in pricing. The base model now starts at Rs 96,749, while the top-end H-Smart variant is priced at Rs 1,02,144. In comparison, the older Dio 125 was available from Rs 87,851 to Rs 93,750 (all prices ex-showroom Pune). That makes the 2025 Dio more expensive by Rs 8,898 and Rs 8,394 for the base and top variants respectively.

    Variants

The Honda Dio 125 OBD-2B is available only in two variants: Standard and H-smart, while the older model was available in a total of four variants: Standard, Standard 3D emblem, Smart, and Smart 3D Emblem. The only differences between the Standard and Standard 3D emblem are the colour schemes and the logos. What Honda seems to have done is that it has consolidated the variants to keep the lineup simple to understand for its target customers.

    Engine

The Honda scooter continues to use a 123.92cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine. However, the motor is now OBD-2B compliant, meeting the latest emission norms. The new model produces 8.3PS and 10.5Nm, which are 0.02PS and 0.1Nm more than before. The engine idle start-stop feature continues to be a part of the package - it aids in increasing mileage, especially when used in heavy stop-and-go traffic. The new scooter also gets a silent starter like the old one.

    Features

One of the most notable updates in the 2025 Dio 125 is the introduction of a 4.2-inch TFT digital instrument console. It has Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts. It also gets a USB Type-C charging port. The top-spec H-Smart variant retains its keyless system. In comparison, the older scooter featured a simpler full LCD console and did not offer smartphone connectivity features. It had the basics in place already with the speedometer, tachometer, real time mileage, average mileage, distance to empty, and a side-stand down engine cut-off feature.

    Design

Visually, the Dio 125 remains the same but gets refreshed graphics and new colour options to keep things fresh. The 2025 model comes in five colours: Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Pearl Sports Yellow, Pearl Igneous Black, and Imperial Red. Meanwhile, the outgoing model was offered in eight colours: Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, Mat Sangria Red Metallic, Pearl Nightstar Black, Pearl Deep Ground Gray with Graphics, Sports Red, Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, and Pearl Siren Blue. Honda hasn’t messed with the design as the Dio 125 looks fairly sporty, and is loved by its fans.

    BikeDekho Says

The 2025 Honda Dio 125 builds upon its predecessor by offering incremental improvements - updated emissions compliance, a TFT display, and new colours. We think the price increase of Rs 8,898 is a little on the higher side. If Honda offered the same connected features in an LCD console, it would’ve helped to keep the costs in check better.

Best stylish aur powerful 125cc scooter
Mujhe apne daily college jaane aur city ke kaam ke liye ek stylish aur powerful scooter chahiye tha. Market me bahut saare options the par unka look simple tha. Mujhe ek aisa scooter chahiye tha jiska design sporty ho. Honda Dio 125 ka look mujhe pahli nazar me pasand aa gaya. Iska look aur Honda ka bharosa, dono mil raha tha isiliye maine isko chuna. Is scooter ko chalane ka mera experience bahut badhiya raha hai. Iska 125cc ka engine bahut smooth hai aur traffic me pickup bhi zabardast milta hai. Long ride par seat bahut comfortable hai aur mujhe patna ke local traffic me isse lagbhag forty five se forty eight ka mileage aaram se mil jata hai. Main is scooter ko sabhi young logon aur college students ko lene ki salah dunga. Agar aapka budget ek premium scooter ka hai aur aap stylish look ke sath achha mileage aur majboot engine chahte hain to aapko bina soche is gadi ko kharidna chahiye, ye sach me ek paisa vasool scooter hai.

Genuine review of honda dio 125
Choosing a scooter is a matter of trust, and for me, that trust lies with the Honda brand. I ultimately choose the Dio 125 specifically because it had a good engine comparing to other rivals and the maintenance is also cheap . Because it's japanese company it is pretty reliable and can consider for long rides . I am owner of a all generation of the honda dio series this is my 4th honda dio .. so far this is the best dio so far because they have given the honda grazia engine to it by doing some calibrations . I had two choices which was this and tvs ntorq the ntorq Laks in refinement , reliability and good service that' the reason I have moved to a japanese brand and iam very much satisfied comfort is excellent. The seat is wide and supportive, making daily commutes very easy on the back. Both the rider and the pillion get wide, well-padded seats, contributing to excellent overall comfort on longer commutes.i even travel kerala to Chennai on a single day with this with multiple stops ... It's still holds no problem If you are a daily commuter but you want to have a sporty plus reliable scooter go for this and cheap in maintenance too , you don't have to think about the the engine because it's honda and you can trust this scooter. It even has all the features like tft display disk brakes at the front and a good cvt gearbox. The only cons would be the headlights it's completely useless on places other than city.
