Apart from the new paint scheme, everything on the quarter-litre supersport remains unaltered

Honda has launched the 2021 CBR250RR in Japan in a new paint scheme: Graphite Black. It’s priced at JPY 8,21,700 (approximately Rs 5.4 lakh without taxes). Everything else on the CBR250RR remains unchanged.

It gets the same sharp and aerodynamic bodywork. The fascia is just as aggressive as its bigger siblings and houses a split LED headlight setup. The Graphite Black paint scheme gives the CBR250RR a stealth look and covers every body panel and the highlights in black.

Powering the quarter-litre CBR250RR is a 249cc in-line twin-cylinder liquid-cooled motor with a claimed output of 41PS at 13,000rpm and 25Nm at 11,000rpm. That’s quite a high-revving motor. For reference, the 2022 KTM RC 390’s single-cylinder 373cc motor makes 43.7PS and 37Nm.

The Honda CBR250RR features a fully digital LCD and an optional bi-directional quickshifter. It’s sprung on a 37mm USD fork and a 5-step preload-adjustable monoshock. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a 310mm front and a 240mm rear disc with radial Nissin callipers. Dual-channel ABS comes standard.

In Japan, Honda offers the CBR250RR in four colours: Graphite Black, Matte Gunpowder Metallic Black, Pearl Glare White and Grand Prix Red. As desirable as the CBR250RR is, it’s too expensive for the Indian market. Even if it's brought here via the CKD route, the pricing won’t be notably low. However, Honda could launch the CBR500R in India in future.
